Son's 18th birthday - ideas please?

My son is 18 on the 1st March, and I'd like to take him on a day out or an experience, something that he would have a lovely memory of.

Any ideas please?

He is not keen on flying which rules out hot air ballooning or helicopter rides, and wouldn't appreciate anything like bungee jumping or rock climbing (he is quite lazy!)

If anyone would be willing to share any ideas that jump to mind, I'd be grateful, thanks :)

Big Cat experience at the Wildlife Heritage Foundation in Kent?
  • Theme Park, Harry Potter World, London to see a show and a meal after, Murder/mystery weekend, a craft or cookery day? All depends what he's into and how much time he likes to spend with you.

buy him driving licence (provisional) or passport. for ID
set of nice clothes to go out in
    handful of money

at 18 last year my son was more interested in having that first legal pint with his mates.

I was more than happy that he wanted to do this, as it was his day and i wanted him to enjoy himself.

  • He's 18 not 12 !

I can't imagine an 18 year old wanting to share a day out with their Mum at a Harry Potter Experience, but that's just me.

I imagine a thumping night out at Ministry of Sound might be a better bet for some 18 year olds and some Mums might prefer it to a steam train ride as well....

Only joking each to their own :)

I did this for my 24th. Well, I had to wait just short of 6 months for it. This year, my present is a ticket to the British Speedway.
