Morning Tina,
Yeah, I think that is exactly the reason why they have done itit was just a bit of a surprise as when I entered into the DMP initially they contacted me (eventually, after me chasing them to accept the DMP) to confirm the original interest rate drop.
The funny thing is that when I was paying £35 they were charging about £13 in interest so it was going down by about £22... Now I'm only paying about £16 and it's going down by £16
I plan on continuing to make small over payments here and there (normally a couple of quid every other week) too.

Saturday 14th of June
Welllllll... I plan on spending a lot less time on line today, I know I'm a bit limited with what I can do but recently I've been spending about 75% of my waking hours staring at a screen with the rest of the time limping around town or doing floor and gym ball work which s the wrong way around... It's less painful LOL but wrong
Anyway, I had a great (drug induced) sleep last night and feel so awake it's unreal (hence wanting to spend less time online)! If the weather stays nice I'm going to try to take in a couple more walks (back permitting) and have a clean up in my room since we have a new vacuum cleaner which I think is going to be small and light enough to carry so I'm not bending or dragging it
All that said, if the letter from Cheque Centre arrives today then I'll sign on again with an update but I reckon it'll be next week.
I had this dream that the letter arrived and inside was a letter which said "We're sorry, we were wrong and really mean to you so have some money and there inside was a £10k note" (yes a note, not a cheque LOL) and then there was a knock at the door and all the branch staff were stood there and they performed a barber shop quartet rendition of the Stevie Wonder song 'Superstition' LOL very odd...

............the Amitriptyline definitely appears to be working!
Your idea of looking at another career sounds rather promising. Do you have an idea of what you would like to do? Perhaps now's the time to look into it.Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

Hi SSG,
Thank God for legal drugs eh?LOL I've actually always fancied being a care worker or counselor or something of that ilk... I enjoy helping people but sadly the money is not so great which has always put me off - selfish I know but I've still gotta live and with the debts around my neck it's never truly an option but as they say "tiiiimes they are a chaaaanging" x
Sunday 15th of June
I bored of going on about my back so this is the only mention it's getting today
Not a penny spent today
I went to Mums for lunch and kept her company for a bit, I even did the washing up!!! It's not even her birthday!!! LOL I was given an M&S swiss roll by way of thanks so that was nice and will do for sugary treats throughout the week
This evening I've been on the gym ball and watching a bit of telly, nothing overly exciting but there was something on called the Bank of Mum and Dad - it was obviously an old program because they were telling the girl in debt that her luxury flat in London which she was renting for £550 pcm (LOL) was waaay too much and she had to move home - that made me laugh
And tonight my big plan is to shower and try and get an early night tomorrow I'm going to speak to one of my neighbours about a Yoga class she teaches and see if she would be willing to give me a bargain price for a few sessions since she seems so interested in my health... Fingers crossed I'll be able to bag a freebie trial at least LOL.
And tomorrow may (or may not) be the day I get my response from Cheque Centre. Part of me wants it to be a rubbishy rejection so I can go to the FOS - this is my first compliant (there aren't many btw) so it would sort of be nice to go through the full process, it's an experience right?
I have already made a complaint to the FOS about Barclaycard continually putting AR on my credit file despite it being almost a year but that's just to get a default, not compensation... Although if they apologise and bung me a quick £20 I'd not turn my nose up
Anyway, that's all for me today so g'night MSE land!!!

Monday 16th of June
Well, nothing from Cheque Centre (I wasn't really expecting it) but that's fine as I had a wonderful nights sleep last nightprobably about a full 8 hours actually
Finance wise, not great as everything costs money but I have enough for the basics and some stuff in the freezer...
The part of my body giving me gyp which shall not be named hasn't been too bad todaypossibly after a good nights kip so I'm taking my meds earlier again tonight to try for another full night
I may be getting greedy LOL
From an achievement perspective... I can now do proper Superman plank things on my gm ball without falling off (too much)!!! I'm well chuffed with myself and, I could be wrong but I think I have the beginning of a six pack!!! Sort of anyway, if I breath in and lean back and grit my teeth LOL it's better than it has been for a while anyway
Ciao!

You couldn't stay away could you, lol. Did you see the girl about the yoga classes? Have you had any luck with getting defaults? I've seen Bank of Mum & Dad. Would we have listened when we were younger? It's only now we say we wish we'd done things differently. Was in work at 5am so knackered.com

Hi MB
Yes it's a sad fact of life that the jobs that are actually geared up to help people in this world are not the best paid - and as you have said you have to eat and pay your bills. However, when you are feeling up to it perhaps training in the voluntary sector might appeal? You never know what might come of it.
Hope the yoga works out - but do be careful!!!!
Enjoy your M&S Swiss Roll (quite envious!):DFinally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

Evening all
I took my Amitriptyline and fell asleep earlier LOL I woke up about an hour ago so I thought I'd sign on see what's whatI'm off after this though.
I did knock on the door but she was out so I need to try again tomorrow re. Yoga but I am the Superman of the Gym ball LOL
Still no news on the default but it's early days... I'm feeling pretty optimistic though
Funny story, while I have been off work I contacted HR to ask if they would be open to me doing a few hours a week in a charity shop on the tills... Nothing strenuous... They said no, I'm not allowed
It was a little frustrating as, if I was at work I'm allowed 21 hours per year (3 days) to do voluntary work BUT I knew it was a long shot as I'm certified as unfit for work, that's ANY workI only asked because I was bored and it's probably for the best I guess... Oh well.
Anyhoo, I'm off to Bedfordshire
G'night all!

Tuesday 17th of June
So... Cheque Centre letter arrived... I've been offered almost £4k which is amazing! I'm so pleased
That is a huge chunk of my debt but I'm going to hold almost £1k back as an emergency fund as my pot currently stands at £30 since I spent a load on treatment for my b*ck
All the while since entering into my DMP the Cheque Centre has been nothing but excellent and this is just the icing on the cake - I would never accuse them of being unfair although obviously they had a part to play in me struggling in the first place
The £4k is not all the interest paid but I accept responsibility for my part and own actions an honestly, I knew what I was entering into at the time.
This means a huge amount to me and I appreciate their help in coming to this conclusion.
