Congrats, great result all round and none of the predicted doom and gloom materialised.....0

Oooh well done - let us know the details please?
My daughter got a car for her 17th birthday and takes all her "official" Instructors lessons in it, as well as doing her practice in it. She uses it every day and so is learning fast. She's passed Theory and is waiting for the Practical which is booked in October (the absolute soonest test we could get following the theory which is a different kind of stupid!!)
I insured her as the ONLY driver of her car, under a Learner Policy with Adrian Flux. The only stipulation was that it had to be HER name on the V5, which it now is.
The day she passes her test that Insurance becomes Void and we must get quotes for "new Driver Insurance" immediately. Flux again advises not to start looking until she has passed to avoid irritations and soft searches etc.
It'll have cost me (if she passes in October) £278 to Insure her for approx 5 months. I looked at Marmalade and several others and ended up with Flux because I liked their attitude more than their prices!
I DO realise that to actually insure her as a driver is going to cost MUCHO MUCHO more than this, but will peer over that bridge when it gets a bit closer.
I wouldn't mind, but due to my daft belief in breastfeeding as a contraceptive, my kids were born WAY too close together and SON turns 17 in April next year so I'll have to repeat the whole thing again :cool:0 -

Insurance is through AUTOSAINT - they only do telematics box insurance for young drivers - they have been great.....You can log onto the website and get detail of where son/daughter is / what journeys they have made . speed etc ..they are quite lenient - you have to be a very bad driver to fall below 60% level - and then your monthly premiums would increase - its been great for our son - but when i drive his car i have to be so careful - i ended up exceeding a 30 limit , braking too hard - my son went on line and was not happy , he was showing me the errors of my driving !!!!:D0
