they will not come down ;heavy' on her for not finding work in the 2 years of the work programme.
ESA claimants placed on the work programme are not expected to seek employment, just to partake in work related activity.

you need to check what you are saying before you scare people needlessly

the work programme isnt just for JSA claimants.
people receiving ESA in the WRAG can also be mandated to attend the work programme

yes, if the doctor says it is not advised.

I would tell her not to worry, anything they try and make her do, if she can not do it, tell her to go to her doctor for a letter, that should be enough, as said they can not have her apply for jobs etc, just training, but not even that is she is too unwell for it.

If she gets a good adviser it helps a lot, but the adviser can be not so nice, it just depends where you are in the country and what adviser she gets.

thanks.she lives inn birmingham i think its worse area ?

    wow

now you mention it, on my work programme, a couple of people probably were on ESA as one had a helper with him, not sure what was wrong with him tho, he just looked !!!!ed off and would not talk, he reminded me of the Harry Enfield character gruppy Kevin :rotfl: and another who said he was on DLA so could have also been on ESA.

the biggest issue is that a lot of the work programme providers also dont seem to be able to distinguish between those on JSA and ESA either.
they try to force people who are not fit for work to apply for jobs under the threat of sanction.
i have been on ESA (WRAG) for 2 1/2 years. the work programme was mentioned early on but i told them point blamk that i wouldnt consider it.
    * i actually meet support group criteria so if they pushed it i would just ask to be reassessed)
they left it to the extent that i havent even had an advisor meeting for 15 months though.
so how they say ESA WRAG is about giving people the support they need to get back to work is beyond min case anyone says that the work programme IS the support that could help me....
statistics show that 0 blind people have been helped back into work since the work programme started.
they are not specialist disability services... just a one size fits all programme.

I'd agree, and add inconsistently applied to that description!

I think we all know the reason for these places, it's not to help anyone back into work but to presure them to take work, as all my WP offer is CV writing and interview skill courses, once you do them, it's just a matter of either coming to an appoitment once every 3 weeks or sitting surfing the web for an hour at your appointment once every few weeks, that's it.

The tax payer should be demanding more for their money, instead of this, but as most seem to support the bullying aspect of these places then it seems they are happy their taxes are paying for a lower rate of people finding work on the WP than those not on it, as long as they are being made to turn up to receive this"help".

I have to say tho that my WP is good in as far as the people that run it, most are paid not much more than the min wage but even still they are kind and as helpful as they can be, but just do not have the means to find jobs for people that aren't there.
