Hi all this is my first post, although I am a long time annonymous lurker of DFW board.
I've been struggling since I separated from my husband last year and had to completely start over. I'm now in a position to start paying things off (I have already paid one CC off, now I have a small CC and a pretty big overdraft to annihilate. I thought a. DFD would be a good motivation for me.
My new partner has a lot more debt than I do, so once I've regained control of my finances, his debts are next. Although I am trying to persuade him to contact various creditors to try and blag cheaper deals for now...
My debts are as follows:
HSBC Account - £2300 (
Capital One - £240 (0% until end of Jan)
I am obviously focussing my attention on Capital One before the Apr rockets to 36% so I'm having an eBay listing spree. I also have one pay day until then.
Thanks for reading my ramble xxx

So yesterday was fairly productive; I have managed to transfer half of the household DD to my partner (the rest will be done tomorrow when they're open for business), I've moved my share of DD's to my basic current account (some more for tomorrow).
This means I've got to change my standing order to the HSBC OD account of doom. I can't wait to kill the HSBC account, its the baine of my life.
i've Had My Car Insurance Renewal...Just Short Of £500 , Funny How I Found Equivelant Cover For £300 On A Comparison Site
I've listed a ring on eBay (well the listing has been created and is waiting to start at 9pm). I also have a laptop to list spares or repair and my lively iPhone is off to be recycled tomorrow as well...back to basics for me.
All the proceeds from the above are going to kill the Capital One card before the 0% ends so I can freeze it for dire (and I really mean DIRE) emergencies!!! Anything left goes towards the Overdraft of doom.
Tomorrow I will have £50 to last until 21st (pay day), £30 of that is to pay the childminder (eeeek), the remaining £20 will top up my fuel and buy horse feed....will need to borrow from my partner to have enough petrol to see me through. Balls!!
Anyway enough rambling...will post some personal challenges for myself tomorrow....TTFN xxxPay ALL your debt off by Xmas 2014 member #126Debt to pay....

Oh good grief it's been soooo flipping long and we've had a dramatic few months so in all honesty paying things off hasn't been our top priority. On the plus side I've reached a point where I've stopped smoking, I've knocked about £60 off my credit card and £150 off my overdraft. I had to borrow money from my mum to buy a new car so I have one last payment of £100 in July and I can redirect that elsewhere. We are currently having a major clear out of stuff and putting it on eBay and gumtree etc to knock down the totals...Pay ALL your debt off by Xmas 2014 member #126Debt to pay....

Quick update. Between my £100 Halifax transfer reward, spare cash from not smoking and my TV license refund, I'm about to pay off my Capital One card and I've brought my overdraft total down too. I am soooooo excited!!!
