Yes the card was replaced - the lost card was the account I was transferring to - so I gave MBNA the wrong number essentially. But presumably that number will either still be attached to that account or it will not be recognised. They won't recycle them surely?!

Will ring MBNA and see what they say.

Feeling crap today - have had a rash few days and am about to see the doc re. suspected shingles! Whatever it is - it is very painful!

Oh bleepety! Just read this about the lost card :( ring them yes, but try not to do anything else until you get the potential shingles infection sorted - I've had that, and I guarantee you, I couldn't think straight in the acute phase :( sorry hun. Just goes to show, though, how vulnerable we can be ... Hope the doc can help.

Shingles confirmed - dammit! Very painful but can still function - when is the acute phase KC? My course starts at the weekend - I need to be able to sit at a computer!

On the plus side - just discovered that there are no prescription charges in Wales! I didn't know that - have only been living here two years! Must show how healthy I've been that I've never had a prescription! But I have to confess I spent £1 on chocolate to cheer myself up + £1 on fruit for a healthier alternative + 75p on painkillers. Will all come out of the groceries budget so OK.

Just spoken to MBNA - it has all been processed and should be fine. Phew! So now just need to let all the money wend its way round the banking system and we are good to go.

Having Shingles at least means that I won't be going out much for the rest of the month - though I may need chocolate! ;)

Good news about transfer still going through, but bums to Shingles. That can be really nasty so take care of yourself.

Right now, sort of! Stock up on the really *good* painkillers - my doctor prescribed double doses of paracetemol, and it took the edge of the aches, but the acute attacks (which came in waves) - well, they weren't touched. You know the way you get up and pace up and down, or sometimes scratch yourself to give you another pain to think about? It was like that :(

Excellent! Get the really *good* chocolate :D

Now it is really hurting! Am used to chronic pain from previous op complications and back problems so threshold is probably quite high but finding it hard to get comfortable. Think debt busting might hve to wait a day or two. At least everything is now shifted around and not growing ridiculously fast!

Sorry you're going through this, Miz ... so, so horrible. Does changing temperature help? I still have after effects, and I have to keep my jaw really warm (I had it in my teeth, it was a nightmare!).

Something I didn't use at the time, but I've learned a lot about since, is arnica ... its for bruising and whatnot, but check out with a pharmacist that stocks herbal and homeopathic stuff if there's anything they can recommend. Pharmacists can be really helpful, and they'll know about interactions with anything else you're taking.

Good vibes to you, hope this goes soon.

Still achy but trying to get on with things - mainly the tax returns as they wait for no one and certainly not for shingles. I got quite excited yesterday when I had finished mine and found that I was due a significant rebate! :j

But today I have done OH's - and unless we have missed something - looks like she owes everything we put aside for tax PLUS my rebate!

Still on the bright side we will still be within budget - once my rebate comes through.
