Good day yesterday. Part of my new business is running online courses and I have one starting soon. It was almost full and I was going to go with that but then thought I would just send a last post about it out on Facebook. I got 5 more bookings, filled the course and - assuming clients pay on time for work done - have already exceeded January's income target! :j

Have also found a few things for eBay one of which seems to be worth a lot more than we thought! Fingers crossed for a good outcome.
  • Wow great post Mizmir, What is it you do? If you don't mind me asking.

Good luck with the Ebay sales, unfortunately during our last LBM we sold off anything that was worth something, so not much good for us .

    Have a great day xx

Fantastic news on the extra bookings :T and exceeding your month's target - it's extra motivating when that happens too, sure you'll keep pushing. :j

Ooh the eBay item sounds interesting, good luck with that. I must get some onto there today too!

    Been busy here buying a 70% discounted + 10% more off + 5% cashback (Quidco) for a Bench t-shirt - it's for a June birthday, but perfect. £20 and I paid £5.40! :D

And clicking up more money on Inbox Pounds :D
    Back on the DFW Wagon:

    CC - £4,500 on 0% til 02/2019
    Loan - £12,063.84 as at 4/1/18

Thanks both. Steph - I am a dog behaviourist/trainer - I work mainly with people in their homes and run weekend and online workshops and courses. I have only been doing it full time for a few months - done it for years part-time alongside my job in education. But am loving doing it full time.

Ali - well done on the gift purchase - that's a fantastic saving! Well done.

Off the blocks on eBay - one item sold BIN almost immediately so obviously sold too cheap but at least sold and that is £15 in the bank rather than clutter in the attic!

It has taken me all day doing listings though and I haven't finished yet!

Day focusing on client work - getting reports written. Two clients paid today so just one invoice still outstanding and plenty of money in the bank for end of month and more.

I think I will be succumbing to YNAB. I really like the focus on where you are now with the finances - and the mobile app. I need to take some time to complete a budget and play with it while I am still in the free trial but I think it makes a lot of sense.

    Only DFW things today:
    • [STRIKE]Post eBay parcel[/STRIKE] Done- under estimated postage - doh!
    • [STRIKE]Check bank accounts[/STRIKE] Done - no surprises. Clients have paid :)
    • [STRIKE]Update spreadsheets[/STRIKE] Done - no surprises.
    • [STRIKE]Sort out issue with balance transfer (not recognising my other card!)[/STRIKE] Done - just waiting for a call back as they are investigating.

Yay! Two more unexpected course sales today! I'd actually filled the places I had planned but forgot to tell Paypal that - and two more people have come through today! It is fine as the limit on places is just set by me to make it manageable to interact with people - and the numbers are still fine. But it means I have made nearly 50% more than my target for January - and there are still 10 days to go!
This is great - particularly as February might well be a slack month.

Going great guns with the business, fantastic news :T

Absolutely right to take everything you can when it's busy - same boat here, January has gone completely nuts - the busiest Jan I've ever had, but February maybe quiet, so make hay whilst the sun shines, as the saying goes :D

What a pain on the Bay of E postage, easily done though. Not found an easy way to work it out either - my scales are a bit dodgy at the best of times so even doing it all methodically trips me up :o

Bit of a YNAB fan base in here :D I'm still on good old fashioned Excel spreadsheets. :D I could download phone apps but that means carrying my reading glasses with me, oh the signs of aging are catching up with me :rotfl:

Here's to another good day tomorrow and hope the balance transfer issue gets resolved quickly.

Still waiting for the call back from Sainsburys re. the Balance Transfer. Need to double check it hasn't gone through then ring them again!

Loan should be though any day then I can get the debts into line. Once that is done we should be on course for a DFD of September 2017 - and the plan will be to bring that forward gradually by making extra. But even if we just clear it by then I will be happy.

Other DFW things today - am having a NSD. Not going out - lunch at home. Food in house. Will be checking spreadsheets and bank accounts but other than that I am working on last client report and getting everything ready for course starting. The rest of the week is set aside for taxes .

Just checked and the transfer has gone through. Not sure what happened there but all ok. Stage three of CC shuffle complete! Just going through and double checking everything before I do stage 4 - the final stage (before the loan).

Right that one is done. Now just the loan to come through so we can pay off the overdraft and the last two bits of high interest debt and we can concentrate on paying off as much as possible this year while we have the 0% rates.

We have money set aside in the offset for taxes and for an already planned birthday trip in April - so as long as I don't find any nasty surprises when I do the returns - we should be fine and everything else can go against the debts.
