There are racist people in this world who think employers are afraid of defending themselves and will just settle and give them a payout. Won't happen if you have no leg to stand on, as implied by you having to let go of your solicitor.
the solicitor not taking the case means nothing, the OP was unable or unwilling to pay the fees asked, it's as simple as that.
these types of cases are not "no win no fee" tpye cases, as the award if the employee were to win, would in most cases be less than the fees asked by the solicitor.0 -

What's the weather like up there?
That's the trouble with racism, it's all about interpretation.0 -
I'm still unsure as to what was supposed to have been racist.0

Did nobody tell you that virtually everything is racist now?The_Hurricane wrote: »I'm still unsure as to what was supposed to have been racist.0 -

He discussed his own beliefs about heaven and hell, but the discussion became a bit heated, and someone got very upset and to top it all he dared to invite a collegue out to lunch. When he knew that he was fasting for religious reasons.
That's the way I read it.
Basically, keep you mouth shut at work, make no friends, make no enermies, tell nobody anything, don't express your opinions or feelings, and you'll be fine. You can't offend anyone, if you never talk to them.0 -

Goodness, if this is true this guy will take his employer to the cleaners.0 -
How did they approach the subject (of settling) on the morning to you monty?
It was via acas. They are a free go between advice service, you should contact them ASAP for guidance. The other sides solicitor contracted acas on the morning and offered 50% off my claim as a settlement! and acas rang me with the offer. I said no but would settle for 75% as I didn't really want to face it all and they went back with the counter offer. Ten minutes later they called back to say it was accepted and I received a cheque a few days later.0 -

No I did not make any racist remark and they have no proof. What they have evidence on is gentle conversations that no one was troubled by at the time and the "Victim" and the company (for their own agenda)tried to make as racist. They actual do not state this in the appeal. What they have done wrong is withhold statements that were used to base the dismissal on. I promise you, I am no racist and I did not have £15000.00 to fight it with. I have no money at all and I haven't even paid the solicitor the money he is owed. I need a lottery win :T0 -
The other side (Solicitors) are not playing fair. I cannot believe how devious a supposed professional firm can be. This lot think they are untouchable but I am keeping them on the ball and shovelling all the rubbish back at them. I am not letting them get away with anything. Their paperwork is inaccurate, missing items and wrong. I love pointing this out to them. heaven knows what the companies bill is going to be. Once I win, the web is going to light up with all the details that I cant give just now. I hoping to be strong enough to not take an offer to shut up and be gagged as it is all about pride not cash. But we all have a price I suppose...0
