Depends on what your credit file says defaults? late payment markers? electoral roll? Current available credit?

if you're a lloyds a/c holder see if you're pre-approved in online banking.
  • If you've got a decent credit history of managing credit well then all cards are easy to get.

Online banking says I can't open a secondary current account

Which part of the Online banking pages would I see this?
  • Online banking says I can't open a secondary current account

This means you have CPD (credit policy decline) against current accounts. CPD means they will not offer product as your internal rating will not allow.

You should call Lloyds and ask is you are pre-approved for a credit card. If not you will have CPD against credit card as well.

Not always will pre-approved offers be shown through online banking offers.

Lloyds update pre-approved limits on the 20th of each month.

    Good Luck!
