  • i saw and bought creme eggs on boxing day on my way home from work from one stop. I'm sure i've seen an advert saying only available until 9th April though or there abouts, so only 4 months left of the run up to Easter lol

Easter sunday is the 20th April. How does that work?

Money-saving-king seems to have thought about this a little more than most people. You want to buy some winter clothing now. But retailers would have to have placed orders maybe six months ago based on uncertain volumes and weather conditions.

If winter was very mild or short they would risk ending up with lots of unsold goods which either would have to be sold at a low profit or even a loss. Conversely, if winter was long and cold, they may run out of stock, losing potential sales. It's not realistic to expect a full line of warm clothing to be stocked up until the last cold day, nor I imagine would it be desirable to have only limited stock/sizes or a mixture of summer and winter clothing on display.

Early December isn't the end of a British winter

Hollydays if you want to open a shop or run one & pride yourself by having enough stock to have a full range in gloves right throughout the winter then go ahead. You'll suddenly find yourself with a cash flow problem as you've tied all your cash up in stock (lot & lots of gloves) and will have very little money should you need to buy some stock that suddenly has a massive advertising campaign etc that will end up selling like hotcakes!

No it isn't, winter hasn't actually even started by early December. Are you struggling to understand the pretty basic concepts mentioned?

I agree OP, I am not that organised so when I do my holiday shopping in July there's very little available. Another problem I have is getting birthday cards after September.
