I was in M&S today and didn't see any shorts! Lots of winter clothing - jumpers, long trousers, cardis, long sleeved t's
Perhaps your part of the country is about to have a mini heatwave
They also had lots of scrummy Easter goodies too - had them in on the day after Boxing day :T
Could very well be the case about the heatwave, I will definitely go back in tomorrow and buy some shorts in preparation!
Or perhaps they thought it might be useful with all the flooding, a mini holiday by the pool at home0 -

I went into m & s in early December looking for boots. The assistant loftily told me they'd been in stock since October , yet I couldn't get or order the size I wanted in early December!0

I wonder why we've never had a high street shop that sells sunglasses, swimwear, beachwear and sun protection lotion all year round. As you say, even in the depth of winter here.........some (lucky:cool:) people are taking trips and holidays to warmer climes and need to stock up.
There are a few - Sunglasses Hut and Opticians for sunglasses, swim shops for swimwear. But I do agree, I've seen more shops like that overseas, and I for one would appreciate them. I swim all year round, but can only buy suits once a year (I like a suit with a skirt, which isn't usually available from swim shops). So daft!Johnandabby wrote: »As a MASSIVE fan of creme eggs, I'm not too bothered about this. I love Creme Eggs and Easter Eggs too, but part of the appeal for me is the limited availability. Easter Eggs are just shaped chocolate, but there's something about it that tastes better when it's rarely available.I went into m & s in early December looking for boots. What a cheeky assistant! Sometimes people's plans and requirements change and they can't plan that far ahead. (Thinking of children with growing feet, pregnant women with swelling feet, people whose Winter Sun holidays plans have fallen through, people who are last-minute going somewhere extra cold and snowy, people whose dogs have eaten their boots and they need to replace them...) I'd have gotten quite annoyed at that sort of comment.Cashback / Freebie Sites I Use:

Talking of Creme eggs, there's a video on youtube showing a person who contacted Cadbury to ask if they had reduced the size of them as he was sure they used to be bigger. They denied the size reduction. Then, he finds an old Creme Egg in the back of a cupbord or something and he holds up the original egg next to the new one and there is a massive difference in size.
EDIT: just found the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_FiA57ir5QM0 -
i saw and bought creme eggs on boxing day on my way home from work from one stop. I'm sure i've seen an advert saying only available until 9th April though or there abouts, so only 4 months left of the run up to Easter lol:T:T  :beer::beer: to the lil one

I saw loads of gloves for sale in my local TK Maxx yesterday. They were on display next to the sunglasses.
My local Sainsbury's had a stand selling hot cross buns and a display of my all time favourite chocolates, mini eggs
But. Don't we have to get through Valentine's Day and Mother's Day before Easter? How many "seasonal aisles" can one supermarket make us endure?Attempting to make £2021 in 20210 -

M&S now sell their luxury hot cross buns year-round. Excellent, as they are particularly scrummy!0 -
The whole "lets stock next seasons clothes already" thing really pees me off too, I remember a few years ago I was going on holiday in the autumn and at the end of august I went shopping for swimwear and beach clothes. It was still the height of summer, the weather as good as it had been for months, yet all the shops had cleared out their summer stock and were full of knitwear and waterproofs! And retailers wonder why people are going online instead...
As for Easter Eggs being in the shops already, I'm still trying to polish off all my Christmas food! Oh well, you can never have too much chocolate I suppose0
