I didn't have success cleaning my oven door with the steam mop. Disappointed.

Other than on floors, I use it on garments that need steaming rather ironing, (like veils) as fencing with a loaded steam iron is heavy lifting...

Aww Polly, did you have the handheld piece? Worked so well on our heavy duty muck. :o

My steamer is a tank one on casters (bought from Lidls a couple of years ago). I usually use it for giving the bathroom/shower a good clean and also for indoor windows.

How effective is steam for cleaning the oven? I have a rather nasty baked on patch on the bottom of mine which is not shifting very well with elbow grease.

Well, I used the steamer on my oven yesterday and it really didn't make any difference. I reckon I used the same elbow grease that I have always used,

Thanks for that. Will have a proper look before I do the next steaming! My Lidl's cheapie looks very like the Karcher one.

I was only talking to someone yesterday about steam mops. I've looked on line at several but not sure which to choose. Vax S7-A+ Total Home Master+ Handheld Steam Mop in Argos looks good and is less than half price, any views?

I looked at that one but decided to go for the Morphy Richards 9 in 1 which is the same price. Which placed the MR ahead of the Vax and there are good reviews of the MR on this thread.

Used mine for the first time last night and I am very happy with how clean the floors now look (and somewhat disgusted at the colour of the cloth afterwards!!!)

No, the Bissel one I have is just the upright. It's light so I help that over the grotty door.
