What do you use your steam mop for?

Wouldn't you just run them on their hottest cycle? Even on my 40deg one the DW is full of steam when I open it!
Yes my DW certainly whooshies out the steam when I first open it, so probably inside will be clean enough.
I still get the feeling its not totally clean in places though.
When I open the door I can see stains forming on the edges of the DW door that aren't inside, down the hinged bottom. Not explaining this well. They're awkward little places to reach with cloth and cleaner.
The washing machine should smell sweet but, again very old, often doesn't. I've wiped the door sill and got any yuck out of there but I think the whole thing doesn't smell fresh, not like my previous washer. This is another inherited appliance and, I was told, is in excess of 18 years old. I'm determined to bring it up to scratch and not waste money on a new one as it works smashing.MAY GROCERY CHALLENGE £0/ £250

I use mine to do all my floors, sometimes the glass on the shower, plus the curtains to just freshen them up a bit - and after reading this thread I'm going to try and do the oven glass with it! I'm totally in love with my steamer. Best purchase ever.0

I have the asda cheap 25 quid one,and I'm very pleased with how clean the tiles and wood floor come up.will try it on the windows,as I have 2 sets of French doors.for me it's much nicer than using chemicals and a mop, that's gets dingy after a few uses. Before you point fingers, make sure your hands are clean !;)0

I have just recently purchased the Morphy Richards 9 in 1 steam mop which also converts into a handheld. I am very impressed with it and am glad I went for a model which gives you the handheld option as it is great for the bathroom, windows, the oven, the freezer, curtains, clothes etc. The attachments on the Vax you are looking at seem pretty similar to the ones I have. Bear in mind when reading people's reviews on Argos etc sometimes people seem to have very high expectations of these mops therefore can be disappointed when they don't shift a particularly strong stain.
Mine has a very powerful output of steam, think it's 1500 and removed mildew on bathroom tiles, not grout, just tiles but it did take a bit of scrubbing. On a persistent stain on a tiled floor I just keep the steam pad on the stain for about 10 seconds and it soon shifts.
I would happily recommend my mop :-)0 -
Thanks.
In the end, I saw that the MR 9-in-1 model was the same price in Argos so I went for that one on the recommendations in this thread. Will feed back once I've used it!

Hi I purchased the Shark 3901 2 in 1 pocket mop the other day(£99 in Currys) and I am really disappointed in it, yes it cleaned my floors ok but the handheld part is not so good, it has a window squeegee which spurted water all over my windows with hardly any steam and the squeegee part is terrible! I ended up cleaning the windows with the hand held pad and used a microfiber cloth to buff them up but still not impressed. Does anyone else have one of these and if so are they happy with it?0
