  • What is the most outrageous or extreme thing you have done in the quest for a bargain?

There's probably quite a few things and its not necessarily outrageous or extreme, but one big porky I told was about seven years ago when there were dresses in T*sco that were a copy of a designer dress and were sold out everywhere and selling for three times the price on eBay. My store is pretty out of the way and not frequented by too many fashion conscious ladies so there was a rail full. Question was, how do I buy a few (I think I got six) without raising eyebrows. I quickly slipped my nice ring from my right hand to left hand and went to the till. The lady on the checkout commented they were lovely dresses and wondered why I was buying so many? 'Bridesmaids' I said! A smile and a 'congratulations', and off I went!

I applied for a few yesterday morning, but couldn't print until the afternoon, it was saying the promotion had ended, so I couldn't print :(

Looks like they've changed it now, and you have to upload a photo.

that was always the case but the link I posted bypassed that!

the offer has now ended hence the reason those that didn't print yesterday can't now!

redfraggle this really made me smile as I have told lots of porkies in the past when buying things in bulk:eek: and I am talking non food items.I am usually not alone as tend to be DDLala's assistant and we often looked at each other whilst doing this and have to turn away for fear of laughing:)I am sure most of the Elite know how to do a convincing porkie;) it comes with lots of practice

A certain MSE forumite of my acquaintance who is expecting her first baby (due date yesterday:eek:) has found out (from mumsnet I think) that if a pregnant woman's waters break in certain shops, then those retailers will reward the new mum as a gesture of goodwill, with gift vouchers, free goods, discounts etc etc. According to her hubbie, she is now been planning which shops are nearest and which might offer the best rewards. Now that is dedication to the cause, in the unending pursuit of bargains and savings.:rotfl:

So, my question this afternoon is
What is the most outrageous or extreme thing you have done in the quest for a bargain?

    .:)
I can lay claim to doing this a few days before my due date many years ago.....spent a whole sunday wandering round and round the 2 large retail outlets near home that contained amonst others a large toy shop a lovely caring place for mothers and a good old oots....only to have to leave when 4pm approached and the shops closed....
As we got home and I got out the car...it all kicked off and at 9am the next morning hubby was back at the retail park picking up the pram we ordered....although it wasnt free and dispite recounting the story all he got were verbal congratulations....
frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

    2017 toiletries challenge 179 out 145 in ...£18.64 spend
