    Hi VT
I used Debenhams last year via TCB and they paid up...think it was about £15 for a £25 annual policy

I passed a sporty little Audi in Durham today with the number plate
2 VT. And thought of you:)

I remember sq#lls mentioning debenhams last year, something to do with gift voucher. Will see if mr t is offering any points. Can't check in online until purchased insurance.

2VT sounds good. I really wanted something with x1 in but too expensive.

I have decided I will sign all art projects from now on under my pseudonym as sounds so much nicer than real name.

Didn't get my posh envelopes from the other day and just got email from very saying I will not be getting the cots I ordered. Compensation of £20 off £50 spend and then after email they take the money out of my account so will have to see if it shows as credit on account or actual refund.
£20 off £50 is not great as overpriced to start with so mum was going to see if can combine with new account offer.

Bored.com as sent dd and sil out to cinema as they have yearly passes and rarely go together anymore and madam is asleep.

  • What is a Scarborough warning?
Scarborough is a bit posh for this to be what I think it means

    No, it's not rude:D

A 'Scarborough warning' is where the 'punishment' comes before the warning. (Please note, I am not advocating physical punishment of any description:).) It's commonly used in a semi-joking way, "I gave him a Scarborough warning" that kind of thing, to head off any unruly behaviour or disagreements later.
For example, a friend of mine was telling the tale about his Dad, who'd had a couple too many drinks and was acting the fool. I asked my mate what he did - "I gave him a Scarborough warning". In other words, my mate sorted him out straight away rather than warn him and warn him over and over again.

And if you really want the full history behind the phrase...
In April 1557, during the reign of the unpopular Catholic Queen Mary, Thomas Stafford captured Scarborough Castle in a surprise assault, when he and his men entered the castle gatehouse on market day in disguise and overpowered the guards. Thomas proclaimed himself 'Protector of the Realm', and attempted to incite a revolt against the Queen. The revolt failed, lasting only six days. Sir Thomas was captured and taken to Tyburn in London, where he was hanged; meanwhile, in Scarborough, his men were publicly executed, then boiled and tanned. But Thomas Stafford's cunning and rather devious exploits were the ideal subject for ballads and stories, and the phrase 'Scarborough warning' soon entered the lexicon. As the Bishop of Durham wrote in a letter to the Archbishop of York in January 1603:
"When I was in the midst of this discourse, I received a message from my Lord Chamberlain, that it was his Majesty's pleasure that I should preach before him on Sunday next; which Scarborough warning did not only perplex me, but so puzzled me…"
So a 'Scarborough warning' is an attack and a warning — but the attack comes before the warning.
'It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.'

I have never paid full price for these yet! and I use quite a lot. Besides the glitchy ones in Morries before Christmas, there are regularly £10 off codes for the website and quite often free delivery at the same time. When there's a code and free del, I buy whether Im low on them or not. £25 worth for £15 delivered. I used an old code before Christmas that Ive used before and it worked :D I'll let you know if I hear any new codes

All a bit crazy here as the builders started the extension on Monday:T
We did not realise how the dust would get everywhere
They are going at a good pace but we want doors with glass in the top half and were being told we have to have plain brown doors as they don't do them with glass at the width we need for a power-chair:mad:
I'm going to find out how much it will cost to get them made if we have no joy as I like the way the light goes through the house down stairs as our old house was so dark.

    Evening peeps. :)

Thankyou for last night, my head was in a bit of a spin!!
Been very productive today. Locks changed and a couple of new padlocks on the sheds, thanks to a mate. After texting my wife about the gas and electric keys, she told me her mother has put them in the house somewhere!! So after 3 hours of searching, I found them.... In the bottom of a box of rice crispies. I know they're trying to wind me up but I wont bite.

No hospital today as the appointment was cancelled, 2 weeks until next one. Picked up a second hand sofa as well, so I have somewhere to sit. :)

    Thankyou Willowwispy. :A

More than welcome scamps :) What other household things do you need? I'll keep an eye on my local freecycle groups
