    I would have been a Kenneth ;)
    Nice name :)
My uncle is a Kenneth, though to everyone he has been 'Ken' for years - it's only my Mum (his 'big sister') who still calls him 'Kenneth'.

Similar to my sister, it's only close family who still call her by her birth name; everyone else uses one of a couple of shortened versions, which don't sound exactly the same as the long version, so sometimes I'll be out with her and her friends, and wondering "Who is this xxxxx woman everyone is talking about?"

I'm OK, I have an unshortenable name:)

Just in case there's a lull in the chitchat tonight, I'll offer up this as a topic:
What you have been called if you'd been born the other sex?
So, ask your parents (if you can), and if you don't already know.
I would have been a 'Lyndsay'.:)

    And what about...
What would you like to be called if you were the other sex, and had the choice of name?
I'm quite liking the sound of Jenny, now, thanks to Emmap:T

    For once I am speechless!

I remember a rhyme from when I was young that went

    Green .... Pie
    All mixed together

I'll not fill in the blanks in case someone's having dinner( well it is after 7:D)

I don't remember that from my childhood, so of course I had to google it :rotfl:
It's a classic of English literature - it must be, it's in the British Library archive:

    Brilliant - thanks, TM.
