Good morning all, sunny here at the moment.

rose28454, I think your sister is taking the pee, but is this cash in hand or through a contract and paid properly with income tax and NI paid? Even if it is cash in hand you are still down but not as much, but you really need to get a contract in place.

As for pet hates - people who put stationary instead of stationery or vice-versa. I have even seen it on official documents. It is not hard to remember which is which - e is for envelope!

I get carers allowance for looking after Mum and top up my income through working for Mum. Yes i am legitimately self employed and pay my tax and ni every year.

Then if you invoice her you need to start invoicing her for the proper amount. Tell her you will be invoicing her at the rate everyone else gets and if she does not like it you will work for someone that will actually respect you for your skills and pay you what you deserve.

    I know I am :o

Back to Ts this morning as they had extra staff in yesterday to sort out the stock in the warehouse to actually make it onto the shop floor today........... seeing is believing :)

Hopefully a SA won't want any more to add to their already purchased 8 cameras & 3 shavers

I am going to try to talk to her later ( not easy as she will shout me down ) and say either its those rates or we are finished. I will have to do last quarter's VAT but had already said I would probably finish her bookkeeping this year as she moaned so much about the software license cost last year.

she just texted me to say she will give me £30.00 for the travel day ( down from £50.00 but it used to be 1/2 day previously which was about £68.00) and half a day for the day off. Now she pays me £135.00 per day ( which can be between 12 hours and 19 hours ) and £12.00 an hour for bookkeeping and i was asking for £150.00 per day and £15.00 per hour from this month but never even had the chance to ask. Everyone else who works for her gets £150.00 per day except me and one other who is on benefits and gets paid £120.00 cash ( i know have tried to tell her).

When we did the big Jubilee job 2 years ago she set up a seperate limited company for that job but she gave the book keeping to her accountant as she did not want me to know how much she made. i was quite upset at that but later that year when i was doing her other books i was doing the bank rec and found the limited company statement misfiled ( she has no office skills) so I know what she made anyway. She does not know i know that but I am a professional bookkeeper and don't even look at her bottom line. I am all for saving money but I am not led by it. Sometimes last year I had £5.00 in my account but so what.

I would try to keep busy, and keep firm you want what she should pay, and does pay... you are worth it xxx Do not measure yourself on how much you have in your bank account, it does not reflect who you are xxx

I am ignoring the text for now and off to Mum's shortly. I know what I am worth and it's not a £'s value. Even my Mum who usually says I need to work for her agrees that i need to walk away if she does not agree.

Rosy, why do you not put your views in writing, so she cannot intimidate you. It is lovely you feel you need to do last quarters VAT, but this kindness is what she has exploited.... I would be tempted to say.. pay me my worth, or deal with it yourself !
