Evening all
Had a lovely shop at M&S today, thanks for the heads up from everyone about vouchers. By the time I got back home was feeling really dreadful, took some pain killers and went to sleep, only just woke up, and still feeling rough.
My son has commented on the recent deals I've been getting and asked me to look out for a "gaming headset" as his is almost kaput. Would appreciate it if anyone spots one if they could tip me the wink.
Scamps, know I haven't been posting here for long and somehow feel I shouldn't put my tuppence worth in. You must be on such an emotional rollercoaster and nothing can undo the years you have had together but please please try to use at the very least any contact made to recuperate as much of you losses as you can.
Going take take some more tablets and go back to bed. Night folks
Hope you feel better in the morning.0 -
Scamps.. one more view added to the pot
I think you need to figure out two things... which is the most painful living with her (and her family) or living without her. Then figure out if you are strong enough to cope with the rubbish that her family cause and the emotional impact of her not sticking up for you and your relationship.
I truly wish you all the best and hope it works out for you xx100 -

Just had a call form my wifes niece. Apparently my wife is so heartbroken about the last few days and says she was pushed into all this by her mother, no kidding Einstein!! Been informed that my wife didn't want to leave and she still loves me but had no choice:huh:
She still wants us to have a relationship but without her mother knowing!! I'm 47 and she's 50 for f**ks sake. Her mother has always had a control over her and for this I have always tried to compensate. How the F do I deal with this one???
Take a step back Scamps and think would you ever treat someone you loved how you have been treated?
If you are totally committed to someone, no matter what you would go with your heart. Just my opinion.0 -
Is it very sweet, or does the mint stop the sweetness?
The beauty of it is that there are two very distinctive flavours, yet which complement each other - aniseed (in the pastis) and mint.
And it's a lovely colour as well.:)
If you want to try it, make sure you get the proper green mint syrup, rather than some kind of cheap-o mint cordial, or the mint-flavoured syrups for coffee. Something like this
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Monin-Syrups-70cl-bottle-/160855497475
though that is ridiculously expensive. Best if you can get some in France, or if you know someone who is going there, to bring some back - it's less than a Euro a bottle there, available in all the supermarkets (the other fruit syrups are good, too, but those can be sweet).
There may be specialist retailers in this country which sell it, but I haven't found one.
Here is my current supply ...'It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.'

I think I've seen something similar in Lidl or Aldi when they do offers based on a country (eg Greece- baklava, taramasalata etc). Don't remember which country the mint syrup was associated with though.
It's only a game

I fell for the Weight Watchers cones:( (cones also returning N/A across the board, including vs M). And bought just way too many (N/A) fillers again.

Must confess I haven't caught up from earlier
Hoping there might have been some choons thrown on the jukebox though, I could really do with propping up tonight, feeling really blah
Off to see what the bargains of the day have been
LFAB you seem to be needing a lot of hugs latelyI do hope you are ok?
I've been a bit lacking with the choons lately, mostly because apple updates seem to make it harder and harder for me to get links to you tubeI do fancy some good choons though so I might make an extra effort tonight
In the meantime, you can have one of my favourite passages from one of my favourite books. It's a Winnie the Pooh book
“Piglet sidled up to Pooh from behind. "Pooh?" he whispered.
"Yes, Piglet?"
"Nothing," said Piglet, taking Pooh's hand. "I just wanted to be sure of you.”0 -
I posted earlier about my landlord making the news. Well there is a thread over on houing called Good Old Fergus if anyone is interested in knowing more.
I will be posting when caught up with it.
