Yes Bubbs, I'm here and yes I got the post so a big thankyou to you and Willowwispy. :A
Been a really up and down day! Firstly up with the post. Then down with the MIL banging on the door saying she wanted the cooker and 2 wardrobes!! I told her to politely go away so she called the police. saying I threatened her. Police came and when I gave them my side of the story and the events that have gone on THEY told her to go away. I was then informed by the police that I had no tax on the car! Wife has sent it to DVLA for a refund!! She has also cancelled the insurance. Back to having no car.
Then a couple of friends came round, 1 with a few beers and the other with an electric heater. ! lent me a tenner to get some baccy and food so I went to T's and had a good nosey around for some cheapie bits. Couldn't find any until I found these.
First one had a SEL for £12, the other had one for £14. Both scanned at 25pGood if you have screw in light bulbs. Only bought these 2 as cash is a bit tight.
Anyway, off to answer Qoc as I can see she's messeged me on FB. :rotfl:

The above was on the clearance shelf, no reduction shown and scanned at £5.
These little radios were £4 or £5 reduced to £1 and scanned at 25 pence.
These had an ood sel of £4.66 but scanned at £6.99. DTD thank you very much. Got three for the price of one.
This was in Inversnekkie tonight FC nothing in El8in as usual. Hundreds of those little radios left, great for stocking fillers or party bag presents, hubby has tried one and it's got really good sound for what it is, and batteries are included.Love your Mum, you'll never get another one when she's gone.0 -
My resolution - I've got to stop being a nice new year Santa to Mr A buying too many unnecessary fillers and doing too many tests on items. Even though the APG often does us well, and it feels like they are sometimes being a nice Santa for us, I've got to stop being nice in return.
My earlier shop - the A Fresh Tastes Mashed Potato (400g) came up on the APG as merely A Mash (400g) and returned N/A vs Waities.:(:(
I've now found there are two versions, even though both are called "A Fresh Tastes Mashed Potato 400g". The first shop was done in a small Supermarket (where I saw the Ambrosia Devon Dream at, and went through at, 50p), maybe the items in there are different codes? The wrong one has B/C ending 479270.
I've bought the product again:eek: this afternoon (so we now have 2 packs) and the correct one ends in 3433. There are a few subtle differences between the packs - such as the £1 black figure on the label being slightly over to the left on the incorrect pack, on my version anyway. Both have big yellow on red background £1 stuck onto top right corner. The one that is the correct product and which compares vs 66p at W hasa small "Asda Brand no artificial colours, flavours or hydrogenated fat" on a green background on the left hand side of the front of the pack, and the words "Food facts" above symbols for Suitable for vegetarians and Microwave 6 mins, those two words are absent from the wrong one. And, yes, the initial letter of the first word only is capitalised (on all three occasions). If I keep going, I'll identify every difference - and both products will have been out of the fridge for too long and not be usable anymore.
The first shop - I've flipped to the Morries comp. below. It was against Waities, and the voucher was given vs Waities. The Diced Carrot & Swede is best vs W - compares vs 51p W. The Mixed Weight F/R eggs return N/A vs T, S and W - but the manual collection in M appears to have linked them up with M's Medium Free Range Eggs at £1.39.
The SP Bread bought, not only because date good enough and no freezer room at the moment, but also as a test to see what it would be vs M. Makes no odds either way, as M is 50p on their Savers Brown Bread - which is that now, instore, as opposed to the product pack saying "Wholemeal" and therefore strictly non-comp. - although sometimes it does compare on the APG. Just wondering whether it would this week. Whether 45p vs N/A or vs 50p it makes no difference.
Noticed that M Local had the Savers Brown Bread at 47p rather than 50p. Then I noticed - cheeky enough! - that it is 720g. Looks like the first store to :eek:have a reduced weight on bread of all things? No 800g standard loaves anymore.
6 items on your bill qualify for comparisonMorrisons (flip-side of shopping vs W - don't bother with the Devon Dream!)
+£0.97
0.16 x ASDA Bananas per kg£0.11£0.10
1 x ASDA Fresh Tastes Diced Carrot & Swede (500g)£0.50£0.66
1 x Mr Kipling Lemon Layered Slices (6)£1.00£1.00
1 x Ambrosia Devon Dream (260ml)£0.50£0.89
1 x Swizzels Matlow Strawberry Refresher Bar£0.10N/A
1 x Nestle Bitesize Shredded Wheat (750g)£3.18£3.19
1 x ASDA Mixed Weight Free Range Eggs (6)£0.97£1.39
1 x ASDA Smartprice Grapefruit in Light Syrup (540g)£0.34N/A
1 x ASDA Mash (400g)£1.00N/A
1 x ASDA Smartprice Medium Sliced Brown Bread (800g)£0.45N/A
Comparison total (compared products only)£6.26£7.23
Must stop getting £1 cakes - the Kipling Lemon Slices added mainly as a filler (£1 for W), to bring up the numbers. Instead of getting a 10p item. Then I put a SP Grapefruit tin in to see it if appears (ages ago, one of the SP fruit tins gave a no-show and thus didn't count towards the 8 items). Then I put a 10p Refresher Bar in as couldn't be sure the Grapefruit would count. Then I went for :(a Banana (N/A at W) in case neither the Grapefruit nor the Refresher Bar appeared. Buying too much, paying too much unnecessarily.0 -

Just one ingredient missing...
Un Perroquet (French for 'parrot') is pastis (eg, Pernod/Ricard) with green mint syrup.
I use lemonade (or soda water) instead of water, so call it a Fizzy Parrot:)
So, pastis, green mint syrup, lemonade and ice .... too nice for words:o'It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.'

Is it very sweet, or does the mint stop the sweetness?0
