No, don't think so - apart from what William the Conqueror brought over in 1066. But I've got family over there now (emigrants) and have had some particularly splendid times in that country. Pastis and mint syrup is one of the memories I brought back.:)

I don't drink spirits at all, just wine and wine with bubbles, but aniseed and mint together sounds quite unusual
It is lovely, I can recommend it. Wine-with-bubbles with a dash of mint is one to add to my 'try' list, just not tonight ... no wine-with-bubbles in the cellar.

I think I've seen something similar in Lidl or Aldi when they do offers based on a country (eg Greece- baklava, taramasalata etc). Don't remember which country the mint syrup was associated with though.
Yes, it might be worth looking out for the Aldi/Lidl offers, for mint syrup.

Sadly once you've tried pakora with its special spicy sauce , all other food is as pondslime.

You can theoretically consume it and you can force a smile if you''ve got lots of acting talent but really why bother. :(

I'm listening to an old favourite, not just of mine. In fact I think this one is officially a night shift favourite :rotfl:

Popped into Pr8888t, but must have missed it.
Very quiet and all gardening stuff gone.
Scanned a "few" things, but didn't find anything worth buying :(
Lots of gifty things, but all still too expensive.

Did see some little plastic greenhouse type things that cover a Growbag, they were £1.

LFAB you seem to be needing a lot of hugs lately :( I do hope you are ok? hug4.gif

I've been a bit lacking with the choons lately, mostly because apple updates seem to make it harder and harder for me to get links to you tube :o I do fancy some good choons though so I might make an extra effort tonight :D

In the meantime, you can have one of my favourite passages from one of my favourite books. It's a Winnie the Pooh book :D

“Piglet sidled up to Pooh from behind. "Pooh?" he whispered.
    "Yes, Piglet?"
"Nothing," said Piglet, taking Pooh's hand. "I just wanted to be sure of you.”

Just struggling to pick myself up at the moment and a bit isolated, I'll get there though.
Might be the totally wrong mood, but how about a feisty woman being loud and gobby?

That choon always makes me chuckle! My OH thought I was making it up when I sang it to him before :rotfl:

  • Gggrrr neighbour from downstairs knocking on our door to complain about our bed squeaking Not in that way either, our bed is old and poo. My mister has apologised but unless she's gonna buy us a new bed, what can we do? She's said she's going to involve the council; good for her she can stick it up her bum
