I was just about to refer you to Memory Girl's Jamaican Ginger cake and I find the lovely Greying has beaten me to it, it is really yummy. I doubled up the recipe and made 2 as it keeps so well and my OH was well pleased.:D

Just subscribed to your new diary kissjenn. Hope 2014 is a good one for you. Don't worry about the finances - your health is way more important! Sending lots of postive vibes and maybe a biscuit or two!

I hope 2014 is good for us both and you get some respite. :A
Sadly we are heading in that direction only .... pet insurance is very much heading this way already :(

I think the NHS gets a raw deal most of the time - I can honestly say that when I was last in the standard of care was absolutely fantastic - although I do know that - as KJ will probably also say, we are rather spoiled if we're lucky enough to fall under the care of the WGH as it really is exceptional IMHO :T

Pet costs are scarily high. I need to look into kitten insurance but sick of paying £15.99 for flea and worming treatment for husky. They're never in touch and hate me even more since I pointed out their wonderful "Free" services actually cost me £192 a year unless I was missing something :o

Western is a great hospital. Some folks just need taken out and slapped (not an advocate of violence against staff just violence against stupid). Really noticed the difference when they bunged all the wards together on Christmas Eve...I begged the on call Dr to get out on Christmas Day, I was hiding in the day room refusing to play nice with the barmpot patient across the ward.

kissjen tell me that you have already made MemoryGirl's ginger cake recipe??? It is absolutely lush! It's simple as anything to make and, coz Elaine is a Fife gal, it'll not break the bank to make it either :D Recipe HERE if you need it :D

    Greying

Thanks Greying...I'll give that a bash.

Well today has been good on the whole.

Cleaners have been. Very ancient Christmas Tree together with numerous cardboard boxes have been taken to the recycling centre and written-off ironing board is in back of car ready to go up tomorrow.

Letting company coming to collect keys for a viewing tomorrow and I need to get copy leases to Sheriff Officer so we can get the Court Actions raised to evict the two sets of tenants who last paid in Dec 2012. I hope there is some form of Karma for these people because that takes a brass neck and then some.

So 3 Things I'm grateful for

    1) pets that are healthy, active, gorgeous and replete. With all the pain and suffering we seem to inflict on our furry friends I heave a sigh of thanks to see my babies all safe and sound and driving us insane.

    2) a district nurse who visits just because he thinks it's the right thing to do. He's a decent, kind human being and again I hope that Karma is around for him too.

    3) the sea. I live on the coast and it provides daily walks and fresh air completely free. I do like being near water and Husky enjoys a ladylike paddle (never above the knee).

I know...mind-blowing. Getting it all done now in case I'm drugged up again and can't manage it which is why they go a 6 month free ride last year.

    I love the Westie...

"I think I'll pace myself this week. I'll start by being quietly wonderful today then slowly build up to being magnificent by Friday".

SB loves it. We see so much of mad husky in the Poppy cartoons. She also thinks she's the size of a hamster.
