I don't believe that any barring prevents reverse charge as these are effectively operator connected calls bypassing automatic systemsThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Correct, only way to prevent reverse charges is to bar incoming calls.0

Fiddling with the phone socket may be the only way. There is an easy way to prevent it from ringing (by making a permanent change to it).
Of course you are not meant to do this, but replacements are easily obtained.0 -
I think that if no ISP wants to provide a fit for purpose service, my dosh stays in wallet.0

Bar outgoing calls. They can't have incoming or reverse charge calls if they don't know the telephone number, so don't tell them.0

They can still find out by dialling 17070 on most service providers.
I would buy one of these, cut the capacitor out and replace it for the original. A 5 minute job and the phone will never ring.0 -

I think I'll have to accept that if you want a simple flat rate internet ADSL service, the telcos are intent on flogging landline phone services. 4g has arrived at the BTL address so a MiFi looks the most competitive solution now.0
