I would really like to join in but first thing I need to do is make a complete list and then I want to break each category into baby steps so that hopefully once I get going I'll keep going coz lack of motivation is my big downfall
I'll be back once I've worked out the above - not sure how long it will take thoughYou should never call somebody else a nerd or geek because everybody (even YOU !!!) is an"anorak" about something whether it's trains, computers, football, shoes or celebs:rotfl:

Well I think this is an ideal time for me to get myself organised. DH and I were made redundant last Friday and we have decided to retire early, so need a complete change of life style.
1 Lose weight, find this very hard, even not being a junk food eater, have to have a very low calorie intake just to stay stable. More exercise could be the answer, but been effected by leg/foot problems recently which limit this. Hopefuly will get more organised with DH to go for a walk daily. Goal 2 stone, but would be happy with one.
2 Work out how to manage on the equivalent of one small/average wage from two very good ones. My budget tells me we can, but just have to work out how too. Need a totally different to wants/needs!
3 Create a store cupboard/freezer/fridge list. Have a second freezer in the garage, and feel this will become obsolete as we can now shop more regularly and have food fresh not frozen. The use up here will help us with the above initially.
4 Work out how to split to chores between us. DH is very good around the house (better than I am really) but we need to organise a routine and agree the split (75-25 him/me) Not being awful here, but I have all sorts of jobs/tasks/hobies which I can spend my time on and DH does not and I need to keep him busy. While he won't starve, I intend to show him how to cook more things, you never know what is going to happen and it would not be bad that he can cook well for himself. DH does not get involved with the budgetting at all, so I need to ensure he knows how and what I do with the pennies too.
5 Work out meal plans, not my strong point at all, and cook everything from scratch. Almost there on the ingredients for main meals, but need to get back into baking too. (Had beans on toast with a poached egg tonight, does toasting the bread qualify??)
6 De-clutter big style! A bit of a hoarder here, but hate throwing away anythign which might come in. Need to look harder, start ebaying, and get some more book on Amazon.
Think that is it for now,but may find more as I go forward.

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -

I made a long list today of other things I'd like to do - then realised I'd never get half of them done in a year, let alone 20 weeks! So, definitely the weight thing (I seem to have crept up to 14 stone 6lbs!!! EEEK! Good job I'm tall!)
Then, maybe the house - full of clutter and not too tidy. I don't have any routines for this, so maybe that's the second thing I need to do.
Third, sort out my money! It's sort of ok, but I don't really know just what I have - I guess I need to really do the spending diary thing.
OK that's enough!

Know just how much money I don't have!Resolution:

gosh yes this is just what i need ....
1...I d like to lose weight ,I think it would be realistic to lose around 2 st by nov 13th ,and hopefully the nice skin ,healthy hair etc will follow.
2...Im going to get a new battery for my pedometer and get doing those 10000 steps a day no excuses.
3...Id like to be a bit less of a worrier /stresshead but not sure how to go about this ,hopefully diet and exercise may help.
4... treat myself to a trip to the hairdressers every 6-8 weeks ,Im looking more like worzel gummudge every day ,
I dont smoke /drink or go out much so I think the expense is justified.
right.....Im gonna go and dig out my old hairstyle books and have a gander.0 -

Can I join late ? And leave early - I am pregnant with 3rd baby due in September. Which leaves me 11 weeks.
My goals til then are :
1. To hoover and dust, and clean bathrooms once a week. The how often do you hoover thread made me feel a bit of a minger.
2. To resume meal planning - this worked really well for us last year but I fell off the wagon during 3 months of dreadful morning sickness.
3. To batch cook and freeze enough food for 30 days so the first 2 months of baby being here we can eat well at least half the time. Every time I cook from scratch between now and then I will at least double it up, and try and spend some weekend time batch cooking too. This last week I've frozen 19 portions of stuff. (and ooh reading through simba's post - nightmare day for you - I am going to include sausage caserole on my list)
4. Get to bed earlier, I am permanently shattered with 2 preschoolers, an ill Dad to worry about, and of course being pregnant. I know more rest ad sleep in bed will help.
Will get off sofa by 10.30 each night. Thats 10 mins away ......
Think that's enough to be going on with

Hi all,
Are you making progress?
Weekly check-in time for me.
1. Meal planning. So far so good. I haven't stuck to it day to day as I never know what I'll be in the mood for come supper time but neither have I gone out and bought more food. Keeps me out of temptations way and I haven't gone over my weekly shopping budget.
2. Clear O/D - I'm keeping this in mind everytime I want to buy something. Every 'it's only £20' thought is followed by one that says it all adds up to how much I can shave of the overdraught each month.
3.Night time routine. Not had a good go at this, been a topsy-turvy week.
4. Flylady. It's getting to be a habit but still room for improvement!
5. Halve my smoking. I've banned myself from smoking in the car and the house. My dentist check up in the week was food for thought though. I have the start of smoking related gum inflamation. Got to work hardest at this one in the coming weeks.
Keep at it folks!One debt v 100 days Part 14 £400/£400
