what does the likely chance dla renewal or pip in your view
  • I'm almost certain you will be sent a DLA claim pack, as you've reached the trigger date for the renewal invitation to be sent and 'natural reassessment' is not live in your area.

so would it be dead on the 24 march i will get sent a letter or anytime afterwards
  • As I said, 20 weeks from 24 July 2014 is today, 6 March 2014. The renewal invitation may not trigger exactly on the day in question, but I would expect you to get something in the next ten days.

The decision maker can access some information on the previous award, but DWP discard information over time, so all that remains might be the date of the decision and the rates awarded.

The decision maker is not bound in any way by the previous decision, but must reach a new decision on the information before him or her. This can lead to very different views being taken of broadly similar information.

There are cases of people assuming that renewals are essentially automatic if there is no change in their condition, so they provide very little information on their renewal claim and may well be turned down completely as a result.

it means very little, just that there is no set renewal date.
they can still reassess you at any time.
you will still be reassessed for PIP, but probably after october 2015

It means there's no fixed date. So, if your DLA was awarded until October 2015, you'd be assessed PIP around that time. But for those of us on indefinite awards, it means they'll assess those coming up for renewal now and just leave us for now.
