I really wanted a drink last night. However I didn't give in. Ate crisps instead. Think I might take up walking rather than jogging to start off with.
Anyway it is 25/25 if I call it in now that will be that.Do I really need it? Probably not.:A0 -
Happy Easter everyone!
25/31 please, Shaggy, with many grateful thoughts and thanks for all of your work in keeping this thread going, and thus me on the straight and narrow. Much appreciated, I can assure you.Better is good enough.0 -
Happy Easter all and would like to add my vote to Honey Bear's message of thanks to Shaggy.
Yesterday was not an ALD for me and I had a g&t followed later in the evening by a very modest amount of white wine but the thing that stood out was I didn't enjoy either drink! I used to be such a big white wine drinker and now perhaps because I drink wine rarely I find it tastes really thin and acidic. It wasn't nice at all, although it was okay with the food. I will have fish this evening so will have another glass with that but if it isn't any better tonight the rest will go in the freezer to cook with. The main problem with the g&t was the tonic was flat because it's been in the fridge so long because (again) I haven't drunk a g&t in ages.
Maybe time to give up white wine altogether, pretty much? ... Anyway, it was interesting that in both cases I would have preferred a decidedly non-alcoholic ginger beer. My tastes have changed. Which is good.0 -

We had a beautiful day here too - spent the morning cutting down trees, having a bonfire and eating HM chilli, then off to an outdoor adventure playground for a couple of hours for the kids to have fun. Rather tired now!
25/31 please Shaggy. Not even mildly tempted ATM, which is brilliant :j0 -
Good Morning everyone,
1 AFD for last night, that now makes 21! Had two gins on Thursday, and had to restrain myself last night, managed, despite staring at DH's drink. Have a lovely weekend.

Morning all, had a couple of low alcohol days and really haven't enjoyed them at all. Had a couple of sips of G&T on Wednesday and didn't finish it, same with a glass of red wine last night. Had a rotten night sleep as well last night, that I blame on the alcohol so AF for me again tonight.

Very interesting, CathyBird and DizzyImp, that you've found so soon that firey ginger beer is more interesting to drink that your normal tipple. One of the things that kept me drinking long after I realised I should knock it on the head, or cut down at the very least, was that I couldn't find anything else that tasted good enough to have instead, and the genuine belief that I might as well swig along with everyone else. It sounds as though you've skipped several years quaffing booze unnecesasrily - I wish I had. Excellent.
26/31 please, Shaggy.Better is good enough.0 -
Honey Bear, it does partly depend on the drink - there are still some alcoholic drinks I really enjoy but it's interesting to me that I've gone off white wine so much when it used to be something I would slug down such a lot and I adored it, but no longer. Also that when I do drink these days it's so much more restrained than it used to be and on the nights I don't drink I only really notice it momentarily before forgetting about it and getting on with the evening. I'm very happy that it's gone this way.0
