13/31 for me tonight please Shaggy x

I am very pleased to report my automatic 'need' for an evening tipple hasn't raised it's head in a long while now. It really feels like progress. I am a little tired of tea though, so glad to remember a bottle of fizzy ginger beer (non-alcho) lurking in a cupboard, which hit the spot just now.

That's a big milestone when wine o'clock comes round and you don't even notice dizzy. I progressed from copious amounts of water to mugs of tea. Over time I'm down to a couple of mugs of an evening.

Definitely AF today so calling it early.

    5 AFDs please Shaggy.
  • March totals so far: AFD = 7, AD = 6, so still at 7/20 for me, but the next 4 days will be AFD (unless I let myself down big time)
What goes around comes around.....I hope!

That's a huge stepping stone, Dizzy. Good on you for sticking with it, because it gets better and better very quickly after you've passed that one.

    14/31 please, Shaggy.
    Better is good enough.

    Hello Everyone

    Belated Birthday Greetings Debjay.

Had a wonderful time away and just about managed to regulate alcohol intake i.e no drinking during the day & only had alcohol when we met up with our friends for drinks & dinner at night. Only on the Saturday night did it have the potential to run amock as I was all geared up to have endless late night drinks when Mr SPS & I got back to our hotel. Luckily, he talked me round and I sensibly went to bed after we had had one. Still woke up feeling ill & hungover though.

Did have a few beers at the airport as I was already in dark glasses and suffering but hey it was a chic city break so everyone was in sunglasses anyway. Mr SPS & I <appear> to be over the worst of my previous antics and at times I saw him look at me like he didn't completely hate me anymore. Still early doors though and I have to keep trying.

Back on the wagon and calling in for tonight 10/31 AF

Good Luck to anyone struggling tonight.

    SPS X

  • Tomorrow is my last day alcohol free. Right now I'm on 28/30. Can't wait for a glass of wine on Wednesday night!!!

Morning all! Happy Monday morning :)8/15 for me please Shaggy :) I confess to somewhat overdoing it on the weekend and while I don't seem to struggle too much with days off I haven't quite hit the right balance when I have days on so am giving the whole idea of ALDs renewed thought.

Dizzy, I love ginger beer - think it is a lifesaver when it comes to having a drink straight after I get home from work on AFDs. :)

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.
