One of my jobs today was to unwrap and throw out 500 bars of Millionaire's Shortbread because it was two weeks out of date. Think of all the calories I've saved my fellow man (and woman!)

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

  • Hello Everyone,

Back from holiday where I drank daily but did keep it severely moderated. Funnily enough, I stayed off wine and stuck to a few beers and spirits and no craziness occurred and no day long hangovers either. Also, with staying in a hotel where the bar closed at 11pm there was no opportunity for me to sit up until 3am drinking alone.

    Back on the "Dry February".
Calling in 1 for last night and additionally 1 for tonight taking me to 7/29 AF so far.

Hope this finds you all well.

Wednesday is my mid-week pass too but I'm determined to knock it on the head and try to make Thursday my Go On Then day.

Will have my dinner super early tonight and get on to the Earl Grey by 7pm.

Helps when there's no alcohol in the house!

I find what helps me is to say I'll have a drink tomorrow. Then when tomorrow comes I say the same thing.

17/29 for tonight and 48 days in a row. Not sure yet what my plan is going forward but not really missing drinking at mo. I just don't want to say I'll never drink as that seems too final.

That's great news SPS. I find that's a positive I've got from the thread is that when I do drink it's never too excess any more:).

Planning to be AF tonight. I'm really hoping for the two week smilie this month.

    11 AFDs please Shaggy.

Hi everyone  been MIA for a few days, but pleased to report all AFDs, so updating my total to 12/25 including this evening. No open bottle tempt me :T
I'm not going to hit my target this month, but still very pleased as the days I have had a drink, it's been just one glass on each occasion, rather than one bottle...

    Hi all :)

I'm staying just on the straight and narrow in between not being at all. I'm still going wildly over the top, nearly a bottle of wine, when I do drink. I never used to get really plastered when I drank (a lot) every day, it was a maintenance dose I suppose so I never appeared drunk and I don't like being drunk.

I'm meeting my friend again, which will knock out my careful plan to try and limit myself. He thinks we're the same but I can see that we're not and I'm struggling. It took me decades, and this thread, to have even one AFD, whereas he doesn't bother to drink at the drop of a hat and doesn't seem to be bothered which days I'm not meant to drink. Sorry, small rant.

I've applied for a few places to live, (Alex, sorry I've been sparse with information but I'm renting so it's not totally in my control), so we'll see. I'm packing, and panicking!

But, I do have some help with my illnesses and I'm really grateful for the support. They make me feel cared for which I didn't have growing up, so although I'm not used to it it's a real help :)

Debjay 48 AFDs in a row!! wow, that's brilliant, you must be right proud of that :)

    11/18 AFD please shaggy :)

actually, that's better than I thought!
