8/29 AFDs tonight.


Last nice, at 11pm, mum's care home rang saying she was having her 4th nosebleed (they had rung at 9pm after the first one), and this one wasn't stopping. As I was getting dressed to go and take her to A&E I said to DH "it's a good job I've given up booze". Well, it took me as much by surprise as it did him!


Mum was fine, but it was 6 hours before she was seen. The bleeding had stopped by the time we got to A&E, so understandably it wasn't a priority. #exhausted. It's a good job I don't work on a Monday.

I've got an ALD to report...*sneaks back into the ALD group. Had a small glass of my home made Rosehip gin syrup....mmm...lubbly. I was tempted to have another, so am taking a bubble bath instead. That's making my scratches sting, so has lessened the desire somewhat :rotfl:

I'm only going to count AF days though, so not quite at my first smilie yet x

Honey Bear, I must say I find the same with two drinks - the temptation is always to just keep going because by then the alcoholic glow has well and truly kicked in. It half-depends what the drink is though - spirits I can stop, weirdly enough, but wine I tend to keep topping up. I'm hoping with the help of this thread the moderated thing will work, but we'll see.

Piggles1, the packing sounds very stressful, and that's crap that your pressie still hasn't arrived Is there an estimated day it should have turned up on? ... Can you contact the seller? Sorry it might only seem like a small thing but it's demoralizing when things just don't turn up.

As planned I put another AFD in today so I'm up to 6/14 now please shaggy.


My next AFD will be Thursday, unless I decide not to drink tomorrow or Wednesday as well. I'm out both nights but find myself dallying with the idea of more sober days.


I'd like to win my first smiley this week. After Thursday my next planned day AF will be Monday.

Calling it early once again, 5/15 please Shaggy Looking forward to my first smiley for this month on Friday!

Interestingly the smiley thing also works on electric toothbrushes - the ones that if you brush your teeth for two full minutes, as we are all supposed to do, will show a little smiley face. I haven't got one of those toothbrushes but would quite like to get one. A friend has one and she says the smiley face is surprisingly motivational.
