Poor Dizzy, all sounded horrendous. Coincidentally I had similar thing a few weeks ago re-dead battery, having left the lights on overnight after I'd been running late finding a parking space in town. I was rescued by a couple of teenage girls whose car was facing mine and who had the sense to have a pair of jump leads (they had had a gap year travelling around New Zealand and guessed they might have been important) Ironic to be saved by a couple of youngsters when, in my 60s and driving for over 40 years, it should have been the other way round0

Oh dear, Piggles, it sounds as though you are really going through it. Regarding the short notice appointment, is it worth writing to them to explain you knew nothing about it, and couldn't arrange transport at such short notice?
Moving is incredibly stressful, everyone recognises that feeling of wandering around the house holding a peg, a teaspoon and a sock and not knowing what to do with any of them. It's horrible. Have you lined up some muscles for the actual move? If so, putting the empty box in a corner and packing, listing the contents, labelling it, sealing it and then putting the next box to be packed next to it means you don't have to move them after they're full. You can't be heaving full boxes around, you'll strain something.
Wow Dizzy, that sounds horrendous in every way.
Cathybird, I found trying to moderate completely hopeless for years. I tried every self-imposed rule in the book but as soon as I'd had the first one I honestly thought I would stop after the second, and after the second I never wanted to stop. (((Hugs)))

Morning :hello:
2 more ALDs for Saturday and Sunday. In case anyone is wondering my self imposed target for an ALD is 4 units or less.
ShaggyxWhat do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -

Shaggyx
That's good to know Shaggy. Sometimes I go to the pub and have a single glass with a meal so that will motivate me not to have more when I get home.
Definitely AF today.
6 AFDs please Shaggy.0 -

piggles1, so sorry to hear how tough things are
I don't know what to say, except that I hope it gets better for you and that the health services get their blimming act together. And that your pressie arrives soon and cheers you up. ((((piggles1))))

Thanks very much bothI've been slightly calmer today. I called up to see if I could get another mental health appointment and I'm now waiting for them to contact me with what they can do. Hopefully something.
No pressie still. It was only a tenner but no one really wants to pay a tenner for nothing at all
That's a better idea to put the box in situ to finish packing it. They're all going at the end of the bed where I've taken the carpet up, and to get them in there I have to haul them over the corner of the headboard because I've moved the bed to make room for some shelves so it's in the way of the doorway!
I'll be getting proper removals because I have a houseful. This will be my 12th move, the last 5 or 6 I've done like this, 3 with a cat 'helping', sadly just me now.
It's nice to sit and not drink after a day of packing, I even look forward to it now. It's just the times when things are so overwhelming I start on the wine and have far too much.
I suppose I need to allow myself that maybe all I can really do at the moment is try and have a lot of AFDs to keep my tolerance down. I already have a rule that I won't drink two days in a row, because that might end up with three days in a row and before I know it, back to where I was drinking over a bottle every day. So my halting thing is to have a lot of AFD breaks. I couldn't have done that without this thread here, it's put me in a much better position than before
Shaggy I agree with maman that's a good idea to self impose 4 units maximum. Next time the wine comes out I'll give it a goI'd been slipping into the one more glass habit.
Dizzy what a horrible ordeal. Hope you're feeling better today and the injuries are fading.
