Dh has been admitted to hosp so all (well most) thoughts of wine are gone.

    He has really severe anaemia.

Healing vibes for your DH Alchemilla.

I'm no use to you NewRoadAhead because I never found a way to stop myself opening the second bottle either. On the good news side, OH doesn't drink anywhere near as much since I stopped so I suppose you could ask your other half to stop drinking altogether. (That might not go down too well though.) Healing vibes for your hangover and I hope things improve at work for you soon.
    Better is good enough.

Please can I ask how people cope after a really bad week at work when all that solves the problem is 2 bottles of wine
It has been a really bad week and I do want to cut back but it feels like the only way I can sleep is if I drink
I know this is the cutting down thread so how did you guys do it
    Thanks

Hi NRA. I am finding that i am having sleep problems if i dont have a drink. What i have done is downloaded some meditation podcasts from iTunes. They are free and aremonly about 25 mins long. I tried it the other night and it was lovely. Maybe you could try that?
Or maybe its just a case of waiting it out, and it will pass.

Sorry to hear about your husband, hope he is on the mend soon.

Thank you for all your suggestions about the sleep and wine. Needless to say I was awake at 4 until then fell back to sleep until 9:eek:

I went shopping this morning and following on from a post I read earlier in the week I have bought some AF wine. DH is on nights this weekend and that is often when I am my own worst enemy so I'm hoping they might help. I got a Merlot (which I had at a friends wedding some time ago and it was ok) Also white zinfadel so will see how they taste. My normal tastes are bordeaux and crisp whites

    Have a good day all

NRA do you want/need to stay up while your DH is out? Maybe an entirely different routine where you go to bed early would help?

Thanks for all the good wishes for DH.

Alchemilla, I hope your DH is improving, do they know why he has anaemia, has he had blood in his urine or poo? Hugs x
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

Hi Satch. They think a stomach ulcer. No blood apparent anywhere.

Though I did unfortunately find oesophageal varices on a googling trip. *don't google unless strong of stomach*
