    19/31 AFDs today :)
  • 4/8 please Shaggy as I was AF yesterday. I'm very hopeful that today will be AF too but I know myself; I can't say I won't drink until I have put my pjs on and brushed my teeth. This is so difficult - it isn't that my husband is unsupportive or trys to sabotage my efforts; but he has no intention of cutting down his own drinking and so often when I see him pouring wine I join him.

7/12 AFDs tonight, and a slight (very slight) lightening of DHs mood today.

Weather has been pretty foul here last night and today, hardly latter-half of May weather.

MiLs funeral is next Tuesday morning. I'll see ex-in-laws for the first time in about 12 years.
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

Sorry to hear about your ex MIL Satchmo. It sounds like the funeral will be a difficult day for you in more ways than one! How are you feeling about seeing your ex-in-laws again after so long?

    15/24 now please Shaggy!

It gets easier, StartingLate, if you keep going. I found trying not to drink one or two nights a week horribly difficult every week for years and very seldom managed it no matter how much I knew I should. OH still drinks, although a lot less now that I've stopped completely but he finds not drinking on two nights a week just as difficult.

Stopping altogether was actually much more straightforward once I got my head around the idea, and the only way I could manage it was to just do it for a certain length of time, in my case 100 Days. I always knew I could go back to drinking if I wanted to, but after 60 days I knew I wouldn't want to.

Today is Day 299. I'm rather chuffed about that, and to celebrate tomorrow I think I might buy myself some handmade chocolates.

All improvements are welcome. I hope the funeral goes peacefully.

    20/31 please, Shaggy.
    Better is good enough.

Well done on a magnificent achievement HB.

You are always so supportive of everyone on this forum - a big thank you from me!

Calling in early with 8/12, even though I was given a bottle of wine as a thank you today. I'm feeling washed out, so I'll be in bed just as early as I can get in there (hmm, what do I have ready cooked in the freezer that I can heat up for dinner on a timer and sneak off now??)

Big congratulations HB. It won't be long before you've achieved a whole year. Amazing!!:T
Like you I'm going to have to shift myself to make a meal soon satchmo. I have something easy in the freezer but want to use it tomorrow as I'm out all day. All this home cooking might be very mse but it can be a bit boring. I'm blaming:money:

I'm doing really badly this month and don't really know why other than too many invitations. I could say no but I enjoy a social drink so I don't. I know I haven't returned to old habits of XS or drinking on 'normal' nights but I must do better next month.

    AF tonight though:

    5 AFDs please Shaggy.
