Thank you!Calling in early with 6/12 AFDs for tonight. Didn't manage any over the weekend, although Friday was just 1 glass and Saturday 2 glasses. Last night however.... let's just say I tidied up so there are no open bottles to tempt me through this week.
Sad news late evening yesterday that my MIL (ex's mum) died. I'm relieved that it was a peaceful passing, and that both my sons, plus many of her children, were able to visit her during her last two days. She was 96, and had lived a full life, with lots of happiness and lots to endure. She was a Land Girl for a short while, which she loved, until she was unhappily made to return home on her mother's early death in order to look after her father and younger siblings. I've got lots of very fond memories of her, and so do all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Not even a sympathetic hug from mizog husband.
In other news, I'm writing fundraising letters atm, so that's keeping me busy.
Sorry to hear about your MIL and shame your husband was unable to be sympathetic. Maybe he is just in a very dark place atm? I know I have been at times and have suffered with very bad depression but not making excuses for him, obviously
No more to report for me but will be AF tomorrow0 -
10/20 for tonight please.0

Well now on checking my posts it seems I have not posted on this thread since January 2014.:o:o
A number of reasons, life got in the way last year I finally cleared my debts :j:j and instead of thinking how well I had done and save all this money my drinking increased !!:eek:
Work has not improved over the years and the increase in stress again doesn't help on the drinking front.
I actually started to re-read the thread on the train today and has made me realise that I can reduce my drinks and feel happier in myself.
I have sat here tonight and already had three glasses of wine but no more left so a good point there.
I would like to rejoin the thread but admit it may be a slow process so be patient with me
Thanks

Welcome back NRA! Well done on clearing your debts and also now looking to tackle the old alcohol intake! It doesn't matter how fast or slow the progress is. The main thing is that you are starting to think about what you drink and that's a great place to start! :T
Just realised I got mixed up with how many AF days I've had this month. I have one more than I thought! So am now on 14/24 please Shaggy.0 -
Calling in early again. 5/10. Just caught the women and alcohol report on BBC Breakfast. It has really made me think how I could be driving over the limit a lot of the time in the mornings. Has made me more determined than ever to crack this on the head. Am enjoying the non wine I buy with diet lemonade. Have now got it in a rose too. Am off with DS4, sister and Dad to watch Arsenal tomorrow night so might have a lager with Dad as sis is driving. I will need it. Her driving is :eek:Total weight lost 6.5/73lbs starting yet again. Afds August 10/15. /8 Sept.0

Good to know that now that everything's been tidied up temptation has been dealt a blow, Satchmo.
(((Hugs))) for your loss.16/24 for tonight. Super stressed today - New puppies + house move and all the trimmings = near meltdown. No wine in the house...
Just as well. *smooth move, dog and puppy-settling vibes* heading your way. That lot would drive most people to drink so just as well all of the supplies were 'tidied away' before the move, really!newroadahead wrote: »Well now on checking my posts it seems I have not posted on this thread since January 2014.:o:o

Welcome back, New Road.
/rant alert: I'm really quite confused about the news story about women not knowing how much alcohol means we're over the limit. Is it because we're regarded as airheads - or because the booze industry really, really doesn't want us to stop drinking and generating large profits for them so puts out confusing information? I always knew that anything more than one shot, a small glass of wine or half a pint of beer was the limit, and anything more than that meant I was over the limit. The way this news story is couched is really pi$$ing me off because it is truly sexist. /rant over
19/31 please, Shaggy.Better is good enough.0 -
Thanks for the words of support Honey Bear! Glad to report a better day today and have tucked another AF day under my belt - now at 17/240
