Satchmo, that sounds really hard. Hope you've managed to go out for a run. It does help so much! I've hurt my foot so can't run at the moment and am going stir crazy!
Shaggy and Fruball, hope your test results are clear! Always hard, waiting for the results.
9/24 now please!
Echoing Chardonnay's post above with regard to thoughts and wishes to other posters.
6/20 for tonight please.0 -

Thanks for your kind words. I went for a run this morning, and managed 4k, which is double what I managed last week, so all in the right direction.
Another AFD today making 5/12. No improvement in DH today. Thankfully I was out all afternoon.
I hope everyone who's struggling finds strength from the support freely given here.
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0 -
Up to 6/24 now after a bit of a boozy weekend with 3, yes 3, parties! On the bright side I still lost 1lb last week bringing my weight loss to a grand total of 30lb. Getting there.0

Not a great month for me so far, work-life stress balance through the roof, and another 5 years austerity just going to make it worse. Am on leave for a week and a half now and I always find time off makes not drinking easier for me (its the phew, that's over for today moment gets me pouring a glass). A pathetic 2/15 so far for me please shaggy. But I am optimistic for the rest of May.I have borrowed from my future self

3 AFDs please Shaggy.0 -
That's fine honey bear the more advice, the better. I have an e-cigarette on standby if it gets too much, but I'm really determined to do this on willpower alone. I hope to keep it up long enough to disassociate myself with drinking. I'm thinking at the moment though, if I quit both at the same time, I'm more determined not to let one side fail. I've hosted these addictions at the same time, so I'm going to let them go at the same time! Besides, I need a fresh pair of lungs to be able to get back on the bike
Keep it AF.
I absolutely love that way of looking at it! Good on you and long may your determination do the trick. Rooting for you, Jimmy!
Also, may I borrow your 'Keeping it AF' tag - that says it all for me.CountingPenniesClaire wrote: »Up to 6/24 now after a bit of a boozy weekend with 3, yes 3, parties! On the bright side I still lost 1lb last week bringing my weight loss to a grand total of 30lb. Getting there.
How do you find the energy for three parties in one weekend? I'm flakey after one even without alcohol. And a 30lb loss - oh wow! Huge congratulations; another example of what willpower can achieve. *respect*Not a great month for me so far, work-life stress balance through the roof, and another 5 years austerity just going to make it worse. *Coping vibes* for you Dansmum and I hope you have a lovely rest while you're off; it sounds as though you're reaching your limits.
Calling early today because I feel like it and because I still haven't caught up after two late nights. Tonight the new-to-me-dog and I will be in bed, lights out before the sky turns dark. His stomach is finally under some semblance of control and he's catching up on his sleep, too. OH is off to glamorous places so I have 10 days (sort of) on my own which I look forward to every year. Love him to bits, but as we both work at home we spend 24 hours a day together and a little break doesn't do either of us any harm.
13/30 please, Shaggy.Better is good enough.0 -

Been away for a few days in connection with buying a house so have clocked up another 3 AF days
Think this makes 12/24 - half-way to target! I've actually found not having hubby at home means I think twice about having even one glass as I'm solely responsible for the children and pets...doesn't mean I don't WANT one lol...0
