15/30 please Shaggy - thank you for my second smiley
I'm currently feeling dreadful, I left work around 4 with a rotten sinus headache and I just can't shift it.
Last thing I could face right now is a glass of wine.
Have a good weekend everyone

I will be picking up my son from a party tonight so will declare that later. Quite enjoying the AF days/nights at the moment. My head feels more rested and not wrangling with the thoughts of "what did I say last night........"
Enjoy your weekend everyone0 -
16/31 please, Shaggy.
We're going out tonight with the people we spent Christmas with, and my OH spent Tuesday night with the husband watching footie. OH has been drinking about one third of what he used to drink when I was still swilling, and if I'd thought about it I should have realised he was quite likely to tie one on, which he did. I listened politely to the ragged rambling talk when he got home, said all the right things, made all the right noises and thought no more about it.
I had to do something that I found incredibly difficult on Wednesday and to be honest, much as I love OH he was not, in any way, supportive. I've only just realised it was because he got drunk on Tuesday and I'm having a hard time dealing with the fact that he just wasn't there for me. This will pass, but my sobriety isn't just about me - it's affecting our relationship with new realisations.
All three of them will get drunk tonight because it is what we always did and tomorrow when, again, something important to me is happening - he won't be in a fit state to be there for me other than physically. This has been an on-going pattern for the entire relationship, but particularly in the last 10 years and although he drinks less, he has absolutely no idea that this problem exists and is caused by alcohol. I've always said he doesn't have a problem with booze because he doesn't get nasty, or make unkind remarks (he's a happy drunk) but now that I don't drink I can see how many times I was disappointed by not being able to share things with him because he had a hangover.
I didn't like the person I became when I drank and dealing with this is a breeze in comparison to 'What did I say?' 'What did I do?' 'Sorry, sorry, sorry.' It is another interesting aspect of the sobering journey, though - that I wasn't the only person who let themselves and others down.Better is good enough.0 -
Sorry, Honey Bear - horrible when you can't get the support you need and alcohol seems to be an area where - I find, anyway - even the most moderate drinker can become a bit defensive if asked to cut back for a day or two.
17/31 for today please Shaggy.0 -
