    16/31 Please Shaggy

So nearly caved tonight  Had beer bottles in my hand in Mr T's.

Put them back and got some lime cordial and fizzy water instead :A

Must steer clear of the beer aisle in future:o

    BHB

Well done BHB. Another battle won.

I am only speaking for myself here: I don't go down the dog food aisle because I don't have a dog, and I don't go down the wine/beer aisle because I don't want to drink.

If I need something and it's at the end of the aisle, then I'll go down it, but otherwise I try not to go down it. I have no business there.

This is my experience only. I am not in any way telling you what to do but just saying what my reality is.

    Have good weekends people. :)

    I know, I know ......:o

I was going to get some AF beer, then Mr T distracted me with some lager offers

Have now decided that even AF beer is a bad choice as its such a small stepping stone....

Thanks GC - wise words as always :)

This will pass, but my sobriety isn't just about me - it's affecting our relationship with new realisations.

    .

Speaking for myself, my drinking affected me and others around me, as does my sobriety.

The dynamics of some relationships changed forever.
I was the one who changed, not other people, so I don't blame people for carrying on in the same vein as they always have.

I agree with you about seeing things (like relationships) in a new light. For me, it makes my sober journey an enlightening one. Some things I see I don't always like, but I need to accept I was the one who has changed, not others. Communication was key, because others didn't know what I was thinking or feeling unless I told them. They assumed I was exactly the same, just that I didn't drink.

Lovely posting HB - I always enjoy your posts and your score is amazing.:T

    17/31 AFDs for last night.

Had a really lovely afternoon with a house full of extended family - two aunties, an uncle, two cousins, plus mum and sister.

Sister told me off for not ringing her when I'm stressed about mum. If I rang her whenever I'm stressed I'd never be off the phone. I told mum that I'd set her hair in rollers before her visitors, and usually she'd be up and wash her hair by about 9am. Yesterday, mum didn't emerge from the bathroom until 11.30... I wanted to go food shopping before the visitors arrived after 1pm. I was fair fizzing.

In the end the visitors didn't arrive until well after 2pm, but stayed until 6pm. Thankfully, I'd prepared dinner in advance.
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?
