    Nice to see you back

Been mad busy here in RL but its been a fantastic Xmas. Hoping everyone else had a great Xmas too!
What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

Sign me up for dry January please, Shaggy - I'm looking forward to it (is that strange?).
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

31 as my target for January, please Shaggy which, in the grand scheme of things, will take me to just past six months AF by the end of the month.

There are half a dozen stalwarts without whom I'd be lost, and it will be just great to have a load more company cheering everyone on in Dry January if anyone is so inclined.

Was it here that I found out where the expression 'On the wagon' actually came from? I was astonished when I found out, so if anyone would like to know I'd be happy to post about it. (I don't want to bore people with information that's not wanted.)
    Better is good enough.

Hi everyone. Been a bit AWOL of late, whilst OH and offspring are off work, Uni and School, and keeping me busy at home!
No more AFDs to report I'm afraid, but have managed to stay moderate and am building up to a dry January; I feel I can manage that. So ...deep breath...a target of31 for me for January please.
May I wish everyone an early Happy New Year - normality will resume here after that, to a degree anyway, and I'll be able to resume regular posting:)

I don't think it's strange at all. I think we all crave getting back to normal after the Christmas period, I certainly do. I think it's about being back in control after a period of eating/drinking/socialising/spending when we aren't even sure what day it is half the time.

    Hi Honey Bear,
I can't recall this from on here although I go through phases of reading at 4am so I may not remember. Please share! You are doing so well, I'm very impressed with you.

Shaggy, please put me down for 14 in January. I plan to put the last few months of missing target behind me and start afresh in the new year.
I've worked out that a factor (excuse) for me to let my drinking get out of hand in particular is when my work situation is less certain. I have noticed that things went more smoothly before my redundancy news. I need to work on defining and valuing myself differently, we are not just wage slaves!

    Goodnight everyone.
  • 21/21 now please - yay!

No alcohol planned tonight so I think I will get 1 more AFD in. Didn't think I would make my target earlier in the month, so am pleased.

For January can you put me down for 19 please Shaggy? Well done to those doing a dry January! I did think about it but I've had a miserable few weeks (down to post op problems, nothing to worry about but they should be resolved on 6th Jan hopefully!) I haven't been able to go far and have been quite restricted so I want to give myself a bit of freedom in January and it's also my birthday month. I've been quite generous with the predicted alcohol consumption days so hoping to maybe exceed my target. I'll just be pleased if I can carry on moderating and not drinking for the sake of it :)
