Good news about your leg barny. Hope it heals up really quickly.:)

HB, the smilies might work on cut and paste. They only work for me that way since the dreaded Windows 8.

Thank you for the welcome, Shaggy, and for keeping track:)
I'm finding that this virtual support group is helping me keep my resolve really well so far (fingers crossed I've not jinxed myself!!)
I was reading a book of Ghost stories last night and they all seemed to start with people seated by a roaring fire with a glass of wine in hand; it's funny how the power of suggestion can really get to you, because I suddenly craved a warming glass of Red!
Those glitzy Christmas ads that feature glasses of Fizz have a similar effect on me too:embarasse, but reporting in on here each evening is winning out over temptation.

I know exactly how you feel Ellsbel. When I started cutting down it seemed that whenever I settled down to watch TV there were people in bars having a good time. And I used to find travelling home in the evening there seemed to be lots of people enjoying themselves in wine bars. It's well worth persevering as the good feeling of achievement is better than any drink.:)

I went to a funeral yesterday and although alcoholic drinks were on offer at the get together afterwards I stuck to tea. Considering I wasn't driving that was quite an achievement. I'm not drinking today either. I need to grab each available day between the festivities.

    3 AFDs please Shaggy.

    3 AFD's please Shaggy

Although only 3 so far for December I feel at the mo every AF day is a victory especially this month when it's party season. We went to see Jools Holland play on Sat night, it was amazing, one of the best gigs I have seen in a long time, it was like a massive party.
Pleased barney that you don't have a clot, I had 2 before I turned 40 and am now on meds for rest of my life to thin the blood. Hope you on the mend soon.
Thanks Shaggy for raising my awareness re caffeine in the evening, I never gave it a second thought, replacing my wine with cup of tea but it must have been contributing to my disturbed nights sleep, so no more tea for me in the evening, unless it's decaf.
It’s not what you have in your life but who you have in your life that counts

8/17 AFDs for me tonight. Only one chocolate cake bar tonight, and one bag of crisps: that's an improvement.
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

It seems we're in the same boat mackeroo. I'm doing my best between festivities too and have just managed 3. I'm really hoping to get to 10 this side of Christmas.

And I sleep badly and drink tea in the evening. I tried Sainsbury's decaff and it was horrid. Let me know if you find one that tastes like tea! I'll experiment with hot Ribena and see if that helps at all.
