Hi all,
not been on here for a while but we've been doing ok. Not brilliant all the time but am happy with the summer considering holidays etc.
Not had time to read through all the posts but I hope everyone is ok & doing well.
I'm doing sober in October this year - don't know why, it just grabbed me & i could do with getting a few pounds off - very possitive about it & looking forward to it, so if I could please join in again & be put down for 31 days and report 1/31 for yesterday.
Thanks

1/31 please Shaggy!
Went to the pub last night for Chicken NightWe usually go to that or Curry Night once a week as a little treat. I had a stressful day at work yesterday and we also exchanged contracts on the house we're buying yesterday (yay!) so lots going on. Have to say I really felt like a glass of wine, but I had a pint of Coke instead. Strange, it's ages since I've walked to the pub in the evening and not had an alcoholic drink. It made me realise how ridiculous that is. It didn't feel quite the same at first but I soon got used to it and it was lovely to come home feeling clear headed instead of tired and heavy. Pleased to have come through my first test intact

I've found that once I got into the swing of it, it stopped feeling strange and started feeling liberating. It's just a huge relief now, and I can't understand why I carried on sloshing it back for over 20 years like there was no tomorrow. I do remember, though, being worried and wanting to stop on and off for three years and trying the 100 Day Challenge and failing earlier this year.
Lovely to know that at least a couple of other people are finding Belle's blog Tired of Thinking About Drinking interesting enough to read. I've listened to a couple of Bubble Hour podcasts and after a while the 'Isn't being sober marvellous' becomes a bit repetitive, but all in all, the sheer amount of stuff she puts out on the internet to help anyone who happens by her blog blows me away. I couldn't have embarked on this without the 100 Day Challenge - it was the single most important thing that changed my position from 'I can't do this' to 'I can do this.' (She's moving right now, so there's a slight hiatus for a couple of days.)
Wishing everyone well with Sober October / Stoptober, whatever your personal thing is.
1 down, 30 to go, so 1/31 please Shaggy. I'd also like to thank you for being such a Superstar on this thread.Better is good enough.0 -
I really enjoyed last night! I got in my pjs, put my iPod on and practiced Loom Bands :rotfl: kept my mind and hands occupied. I went up to bed and read Belles blog (I'm reading it from the beginning) then went to sleep about 11. I slept undisturbed until 6am. I've been to the gym and cleaned the house. Looking forward to watching a film in bed later.Mortgage Jan 13 99260.00 87253 April 2017
