Went to a favourite pub of ours last night in Kingsand for a meal last night (delayed anniversary treat) and drank tomato juice (the pub had run out of Worcester sauce!) and celebrated a friend's 50th birthday with coconut water at her bash tonight. Very happy with both events, except for one minor thing. OH is a lovely, lovely dancer and in 21 years has led beautifully, mosty jive, but a few other styles - he more or less pulls and pushes me into position. Tonight, dancing sober for the first time, somehow my big toe got well and truly squashed under his foot and it HURTS! As I was driving and that included hanging around for a ferry we left shortly afterwards while I could still move it without screaming with pain. I fear for the toe.
6/30 please Shaggy.Better is good enough.0 -

Shouldn't laugh but a sore toe is far more acceptable than a hangover!
On another note, my uncle used to drink tomato juice. We took to carrying a small bottle of Worcestershire sauce with us particularly for weekends in France.
You're doing brilliantly. Social occasions are amongst the biggest test IMO.:T0 -
The toe is not broken according to the nurse at the minor injuries unit and she had the benefit of an xray, so I just have to keep it elevated and get OH to do all the cooking and vacuumming for a couple of weeks. No hardship there, then!
Maman, since going AF, I've been to a wedding, celebrated an anniversary, watched a film at the arts centre at which I'd normally have a drink, been to the pub several times and been to a boozy 50th birthday party that involved a boozy lunch time picnic and an evening do. I'm really very surprised at how straightforward it's been so far, but as I read somewhere recently, it's taking the first drink that gets you drunk. I think I'll be able to stick with it though, and the longer I last without lapsing, the chirpier I feel.Better is good enough.0 -

ShaggyxWhat do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0
