Oops, I ended up going out for a swift couple at the end of the night so I wasn't AF after all. I was AF again tonight so finally caught up with Saturday.0 -
Thanks for the advice on SW Sukeyboo. I tried it a few years ago and I lost some then. My friend has lost quite a bit there too. I have the books etc so I will attempt to dig them out.
Kind regards

I'm off on holiday tomorrow so having to call this month on a rather pathetic
6 AFDs please Shaggy.
Must do better in July.:o
My holiday won't be AF but I will be sensible.0 -
Morning :hello:
Thought I might end up having a drink at the weekend, what with all the football and beer. But it turned out my desire to lose weight was stronger than my desire to join in the festivities so I'm on 16 AFDs to yesterday.
ShaggyxWhat do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -
I know some of you are trying to lose weight too.
Good Luck! So hard! "Nil by mouth" is what seems to work for me! I jest, I calorie count on a spread sheet - I'm on the 144th (20 weeks) day of my current diet and have lost about 19 Llbs. I haven't had any alcohol in nearly 4 months but I haven't had a biscuit in the same amount of time either. Feel so much better for the effort though.
I piled the weight on when I was under stress (my dad died last year - the previous year my eldest sister was diagnosed with breast cancer - and the previous year before that my other sister almost died too - and would done if it weren't for some spectacular doctors ) so I totally understand why people pile on weight when under stress....which is most of us, most of the time
I do find, by the way, I'm just generally much hungrier if I drink. I think it might have something to do with the fact that most alcohol creates insulin spikes???? It takes me about 6 days of not drinking to feel the effects on my appetite but I'm definitely less hungry on day 6 of AFness. What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again.
