Well done to everyone who has met or exceeded their targets and don't give up if you didn't make it this time. Tomorrow's another month and a brand new start :T0 -

I wonder how many people that are on this thread are using alcohol to "take the edge off" after a hard day at work ? I know I do
Made it in but it was a Herculean effort today - worse than yesterday. Back to normal tomorrow and Friday - phew!
I know I drink to take the edge off. And on a very stressful day have been a bit restless and on edge on my non-drinking evenings. My newfound jogging habit seems to be helping although my sleeping patterns are still not great but have been improved. Sometimes I feel like the less I drink the more I feel and if that's good then it's great but the negative moods are also stronger when I'm sober. Burying my head in a bottle of wine doesn't actually improve the situation it just means I can put it out of my head for a while.
My final one for April tonight so that's 14/14 please Shaggy. And I spent the evening in a pub drinking bitter lemon in spite of a friend insisting I join them for one for the road, for about the last 3 rounds so I'm pleased to have resisted temptation for my easter egg jumpy!! How sad!!0 -
Wannabeefree well done on your last af free day of the month , today was also af for me :-) also well done on the jogging I struggle to get motivated so think you're doing amazing ! I'm off to bed now as I'm up at 5 :-( so see you in May :-)

First time I've joined a forum, however, really need a challenge just now and want to go for 31 AFD in May.
I've been really stressed lately and have gained a few pounds because of this. I feel like all control has gone out of the window and I'm struggling with bills. I know if I motivate myself I could make a few hundred pounds by selling things but the stress is holding me back.
I'm going to take this challenge one day at a time and see if I can get my old enthusiasm and energy back to get the money making ball rolling.
 hi and welcome,
Stress is a dreadful thing and holds me back all the time. As Mobo said alcohol takes the edge off. It's definitely why I do it.
Like Wanna Bee Free I also had a rubbish day yesterday with the tube strike. I don't catch it myself but my DH and sons do. I had to take hubby to a mainline station for 6.15 then go home, drive to son's school 40 mins away. After that another 40 mins to my work and got there 20 to 9. Full days teaching followed that and a meeting until 5.30. Bit more prep then home for 6.30. And then.....A and E with DS1 who had hurt his hand at rugby training! He has exams next week so we couldn't afford to leave it and see. His writing hand has soft tissue damage only but what did the whole thing result on when I got home? Yep you guessed. Just over half a bottle of wine.
And why? Stress, take the edge of things, help relax. I feel I have let myself down but I really don't know how to do something else in that situation.
Sorry for rambling, just had to get it off my chest. Hoping for a more civilised day today. A trip to the gym tonight should keep me off the red stuff tonight.
Well done to everyone achieving their targets. Much admiration from me.:T
Kind regards
Slowdown:)0 -
Hi Slowdown, wow what a day you had. I've had visiting people in hospital stuff too and it made me AF when I thought I might have to jump in a car but after that stage at least a couple of wine nights to block it out.
Mobo, thanks for your encouragement! If you were with me jogging you'd be less impressed! But it's happening, I'm doing it so that's good.
I wanted to ramble on about rambling. I think people find Rambling helps, get it out there etc. Especially when they can't to those close at home. Recently we've all been more check in and numbers and scores but I hope we can ramble on here too.
Haven't had caffeine yet, hope this makes sense!
I woke snd thought oh no, 5.30 am but was delighted to find out it was two minutes to 7 and I'd slept through the whole night.
More of that tonight please! Good morning to Shaggy who's due along next!!0 -
Morning :hello:
I achieved The Full Monty for April
ShaggyxWhat do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -
