Me too ElusiveLucy - I was doing quite well until this last week - my excuse is that I have been off work this week & the hot weather has got me reaching for a drink most evenings. I haven't had a lot - just the one most nights but no AFD's to add to my total from last week
I am going attempt one tonight and to help with my resolve I will declare early on 8/12 please Shaggy. That means I have to do Mon-Thurs next week to reach target.0 -
20/25 AFDs today0

Me too - in fact just a couple of AFDs would be good. I will not meet target again. I haven't been posting as i don't want to admit to my constant failure to not drink. I was cutting down even if drinking every night but I have noticed the amount is creeping up again and I am off on holiday in July for 3 weeks too. Lots of reasons why, difficult times at work and constant travel are my current excuses but still not healthy and not helpful either.
Great to read of others being successful :T though and makes me hopeful.0 -

Well done to everyone doing well and thank you so much for posting.
Unexpectedly bumped into friend which derailed me. Nothing social in the calendar left this month and trying very hard to keep July to minimal social.
But it's not easy. Sometimes just wish everyone would go away.
Got a lot of studying to fit into July so need to improve massively.2017- 5 credit cards plus loan
Overdraft And 1 credit card paid off.
2018 plans - reduce debt0 -
A massive good luck to everyone struggling with it at the moment.
Maggie, please don't think you can't post if you're not meeting your target. If you're struggling and you post you'll be reminded how much support there is here, rather than hiding away feeling sad and disappointed. We're all here because sometimes it's tough, we already know that, and we're all a work in progress.
23/30 please, Shaggy.Better is good enough.0 -

Back from a couple of weeks away. Ashamed to say that I can only claim 2 AFD [/COLOsince I last posted.
I haven't been able to read posts due to lack of time. Hugs for those that need them, and well done to those doing well.

I sympathise with you all and can tell you that this is not easy to moderate your alcohol intake (or in my case give up completely).
I used to drink 24/36 cans of 500 ml Stella Artois per weekend (or when I was off work), then 5 and a half years , I had my birthday and had a blinking good weekend of alcohol consumption.
I then woke up on the Sunday morning , not feeling to good, and thought I dont really need this anymore and I need to give up.
So that is exactly what I did - TBH its not been easy since the and I have thought about drinking alcohol again, but so far I have resisted the temptation and I am still dry,
The positives for me are that I have saved a load of cash and my Type 2 Diabetic Control has increased positively.
So far all of you who are struggling, I understand how you feel and I offer you my support, and I hope that my story serves as an inspiration to you all.
