What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

It was me that told you about Porto railway station.

Thought it was! Thank you for that, I'd have missed it if you hadn't told me about it and it was every bit as wonderful as I thought it was going to be.

Sorry but couldn't help seeing an irony in the fact that you'll never be seen lying on your back in the street again!

    As featured in this poem:

How well do I remember, it was just this past December,
I was walking down the street in manly pride
When my heart began to flutter, and I fell into the gutter,
and a pig came up and lay down by my side
As I lay there in the gutter, with my heart still in a flutter,
a lady passing by began to say
'You can tell a man who boozes, by the company he chooses'
And the pig got up, and slowly walked away

The wonderful Jim Croce set this to music about 30 years ago and it's always made me laugh. I didn't realise it was a 1933 Temperance song until I googled it though!

I think I ended up with 20/TF for February, which under the circumstances, is OK.

In the circumstances I think that's brilliant and thank you for the St David's Day wishes.

Sorry you were robbed in Barcelona Scatterbrain - that would ruin my holiday completely too. Fortunately for us we'd all heard about its reputation for street crime so we were very careful about what we carried and where we went plus which it wasn't peak season, obviously, which meant the crowds weren't quite as dense as pickpockets and bagsnatchers like them to be.

I've done a quick search but I can't find an image of the St Albans Miro frieze which is a bit frustrating. We managed to bypass his pavement frieze on The Rambles but I think I saw most of his street art other than that. Lots of lovely colour and a real sense of wit.

I decided not to overdose on Gaudi - we went round Le Pedrera which was worthwhile but I just sort of glanced at most of the other examples of his work from the tour buses I'm afraid. He's just too much for me, very much like Picasso. Most of Miro's work is wonderfully sparse.

Good luck with giving up Facebook for Lent. I'm making another attempt at giving up sugar, which may or may not work. I've always thought of myself as having absolutely no willpower, but having stopped smoking and drinking clearly I have some, so even though I've failed miserably before with stopping eating sugary things I'm willing to have another stab at it.

    2/31 please, Shaggy.
    Better is good enough.

No plans to drink today. The cold I had last month has come back:mad: so I can't taste much anyway.

    2 AFDs please Shaggy.

    2 AFDs please Shaggy.
It's awful this year, it just won't go away. I've had 4 or 5! Feel better soon :)

Declaring early today for 2/20, I'm on an early flight tomorrow and I'm already anxious about travelling so I don't want any alcohol making me feel any more ropey!
I'll be away until Monday evening, so I hope you all have a good weekend. I doubt I'll rack up any more AFDs in Venice (local wine?!) but you never know!

Sorry SB ,, I got the wrong meaning of the bags discarded in bins ,,, I thought they'd been snatched, not binned because a new replacement was bought !!

They are all snatched! When we went to report it the police station was full of tourists reporting street crime.
Since then I have also always taken photocopies of our passports on holiday with us.

HB I'll see if I can find a link. BTW it was only about a year ago I realised Miro was male! Well his first name is Joan
