It is early but I am tired and grouchy. Not going out or drinking at home. Going to bed with book.
Honey Bear very sorry for your loss. I will heed your words, tho relatively young my tummy and hips are slowly morphing into 1 mass and I think I would do well to take on board what you are saying. Wise words, but sorry they are born from your loss.2017- 5 credit cards plus loan

Honey Bear, really sorry to hear about your loss - what a terrible thing when your friend was only in his 50s0

That's dreadful news about your friend HB. AFDs have so many benefits and I know health is one of them.
I'm taking advantage of not being able to taste anything and having an AF Friday evening. It was a bit of a struggle around wine o'clock but I'm reconciled now.
3 AFDs please Shaggy0 -
Evening all !!
HB so sorry about your friend , and so young, like you say WE ALL NEED TO LOOK AFTER OURSELVES and eacherother more!!
This has been the first AF Friday I've had in years ,,,, I really can not remember when the last one was!

Thanks CoastalChick, PSL and LoveSale for your kind words. I wasn't close to him, he was part of a very wide circle of friends who were close to him and it is them who I think have been genuinely shocked that someone can die so suddenly, comparatively young.
I'm at the age when people start panicking about all the crap they've eaten and drunk for decades, I think. Coupled with that, I'd say we're all aware of the growing obesity problem. Having done some very straightforward background reading about how to make minor changes to my life that might make a very big difference to my health as I age, I'm suddently very aware that a spare tyre around my middle is a very serious health hazard. Mostly I think weightloss is regarded as being about vanity, but it isn't, it's about our future health. I hadn't fully realised that until very recently. This has been the first AF Friday I've had in years ,,,, I really can not remember when the last one was!

And that, today, has really, really lifted my spirits. Good for you and thank you for posting it.
I'm still battling with dreadful tonsillitis, totally wiped out by it. It's galling that since I gave up the booze it was an uphill battle to work out what else I was doing that made me feel so grim that Shaggy resolved for me, and now I've been battling with an awful cold thing and various knock-ons for well over a month. It will resolve itself but right now it's grim.
4/31 please, Shaggy.Better is good enough.0 -

I don't think it matters what motivates you, what matters is that you do something about it. I know I cut back on alcohol to trigger weightloss. Once I had that under control I started on the healthy eating. Together they did the trick.
I know the biggest motivator to stop me drinking is that the empty calories will make me put weight back on. I hated being fat and I don't want to go there.
The health benefits are a bonus for me but whichever way you approach it the results will be the same. Hope that makes sense and doesn't sound too preachy.:o
Sorry to hear you're still under the weather HB. I'm still full of cold just hoping it stays in my head and doesn't get worse.:(0 -

Good evening everyone
I haven't posted since Thursday, my twins had their 10th birthday yesterday so we were busy making a special day for them. I had wine yesterday even though I didn't intend to.
I planned to have wine today but didn't so it all balanced out.:)
Ending today on 3/25 please Shaggy

Happy birthday to your twins SB!
With a lot of talk of weight loss here at the moment , I have to say I'm one of those sickening people who can and drink what I like and still a size ten !!
However it took me years ,, and I mean years to give up smoking , I tried patches , gum , tablets and I was even hypnotised twice !! And then I gave up on my accord !!
And I struggle with booze , really struggle , when I don't drink ,,, I don't drink ,,,,BUT ,,,
When I do ,,, oh boy ,,, I drink and drink ,, and drink ,,, and drink ,,, until I fall over or fall asleep
What a shame:money: I will never be rich but I'm happy :rotfl:0 -
3 please, thanks, Shaggy0
