Wow Lulabelle, you're really going for it this month!
Scatterbrain that sounds really frightening. Thank goodness you got a definitive diagnosis so you can take steps to heal. Please keep posting so we know you're okay.
Ahh, Dizzy. Back on the sugar, eh? If it's not one addiction, it's the other. At least you're not claiming having a cadb**y's cream eggs counts as eggs for breakfast!

I wasn't AF last night, but I did manage to open a bottle of wine and not neck the lot. I got to the two-glasses-and-now-I-want-to-drink-everything-in-sight point and questioned myself, and then stopped.
So I'm putting that down as a minor success, as this is what I'm aiming for on the days I do drink.0 -

That's great FPW! And I think that is a good way to look at it/do it. Rome wasn't built in a day. And it's hard to go cold turkey whether it's alcohol, chocolate or cake. So I think noticing behaviours and changing them gradually is a perfectly sensible plan and more likely to be sustainable long term.I want to be a writer0 -
The boy (my other half) texted last night saying he was going out for a beer after work with workmate. Did make me want a drink myself but resisted texting him and asking him to bring back a bottle of red (my favourite tipple/nemesis!). As it was, he didn't end up going for a pint and came home and we had take away, tea and a can of cherry coke (bad I know but better than booze!). He had had 2 beers at lunch he said (which is unusual for him as he doesn't really drink much but whenever he goes out with one particular colleague, which he did yesterday lunch, he ends up having a drink!).I want to be a writer0

Roland, I hope you've had a fantastic week off work and done a whole load of stuff that you wouldn't normally have had the energy or inclination to do. I also hope that having had one drink you'll be back posting again really soon and not put all of your achievements in January and February aside.fakeplastictwee wrote: »I wasn't AF last night, but I did manage to open a bottle of wine and not neck the lot. Well done, FPT, that's what we'd all like to do - manage our drinking. As it was, he didn't end up going for a pint and came home and we had take away, tea and a can of cherry coke (bad I know but better than booze!).
Nothing is 'bad' if taken in moderation. Nothing. You know cherry coke is loaded with sugar but then so is alcohol, and cherry coke won't mean you can't find your Stop Button or give you a headache the day after. And if you had one can between the two of you, I'd consider that positively brilliant!
