    Morning,
I caved last night :(:( but did enjoy my wine!
So until last night it was 8/31...will be good again now, so 9/31 after tonight thank you

I think that's important. It's easy to just drink every day so it becomes as normal as brushing your teeth. Not something you choose and enjoy just something you do.

I've posted before that my motivation is very vain and shallow but it works for me. I'm so pleased that I'm not fat any more that I'm determined to limit the treats that can make me fat and wine is one of them. health and finances are important spin offs.

    No drinking planned today.

    6 AFDs please Shaggy.

That's my motivation as well (although the weight loss will take time, it's only been 10 days, but was 3lb down after 7 days).
But the bank balance is around £100 healthier already, my lower back pains away (I genuinely think it was alcohol related, the more I drank, the more sore it was) and as I mentioned earlier in the thread, the chronic heartburn has gone.

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

  • I'm calling in early for tonight - 11/30 for me please Shaggy

I'm finding weekdays straightforward, last week it was particularly Friday where I found it really difficult as I got to the end of the working week and felt I would really like a drink to sit down and relax with. In the end I had a couple of glasses of AF wine and I think I might make sure I have a bottle available again tomorrow night as it got me through. I also missed having a glass of wine when we went out for dinner last Saturday, so went home and finished the rest of the bottle of AF wine. I know a couple of friends started Dry Jan and gave up last weekend, but that is the easy route and I am determined to stick with it (to prove to myself I can do it as much as anything)
What goes around comes around.....I hope!

12/31 please. Not a good day at work today and I am in a hotel so could really 'fancy' a glass of wine tonight. However I have been very good this week so far, in the gym every day - just walking on a treadmill though - and determined to have a whole month AF so need to keep going. Great to read the posts of everyone and these so often make me think and reflect. Thank you all.
