But, I did manage AFD yesterday and tonight, so I am now up to 3/18. Not ideal but I feel better. I had a fair bit on Saturday but stuck to Prosecco and didn't have a hangover yesterday.
Well done! Little steps ElusiveLucy!
Have a ridiculous amount of stuff to do so being clear headed massively helps. 6 AF please Shaggy.

Morning :hello:
1 more AFDs for yesterday.
ShaggyxWhat do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -

I was at the hairdressers' on Saturday and after the hairdresser had been twiddling with my hair for a while he asked if I drank wine at home ever. !! I was a bit surprised by this but said yes, though not every day (hurray for this thread!!!) He went on to say tentatively that his wife had taken to drinking wine at home, then added after I asked some more questions that she drank a bottle a night every night. Now I've met his wife, who comes into the salon quite a lot, and she is short and small-framed, so a bottle a night is a hell of a lot - it's a lot anyway, but even more so for someone so small-built - I was a bit shocked actually. I said quite strongly I thought that was a lot of alcohol, much too much, and it was definitely a concern and she should cut back, etc etc. I think he wasn't quite sure what to think but was obviously bothered by it so I hope what I said gave him some backing.
I slept badly that night due to the heat and had a strange dream that I was facing a row of solemn waiters, with the head waiter saying in a very grave, deep voice, "Don't you think you have a problem with alcoholism?" ... Well blimey, I'm nowhere near as bad as I used to be!! Thank goodness for this thread for putting me on the straight and narrow.0 -

Thanks MP, I am determined to get through to Friday without a drink. Planning on my first trip to the gym in 18 months tonight, so I may not be up to much tomorrow night!!
My aim this month is to get the 14 day icon with the umbrella......as a minimum, but ideally reach target, which will be a big challengeWhat goes around comes around.....I hope!0 -

Afternoon all! 4/15 for me please Shaggy.
Re ginger beer, it is my go-to non-alcoholic drink of choice, with a few drops of Angostura bitters, which makes it taste like an adult drink rather than a substitute (well that's what I think). It is worth buying a good brand of ginger beer as the cheaper brands can tend to taste metallic or sugary. Personally I love Fever Tree. Fentiman's is good too, incredibly fumey and strong, in a good way. Again, just my opinion!
I tried Fever Tree and it was very nice, 40kcal per 100ml and I would prefer zero, so switched to Old Jamaica, which is definitely not as nice, but less calories. The Fever Tree is still half the calories of wine, but even so, I always grudge calories in drinks.0
