Do you mean Moto G 8gb?
    P4U/d-a-p sell 16gb for £140+£10. 8gb is £120+£10. Check quidco/TCB

did you get this update OTA? - and you're using an unlocked Tesco mobile Moto?
When I do a manual check via wifi - it always seems to time out - I have to switch the wifi off in order for the check to actually happen.
    Still no update though :(
I live in a poor area for mobile data but the 2G coverage is good. As a result I normally have mobile data disabled on the phone when at home.

When I got up this morning and switched on the WiFi from my phone to the ADSL router a message appeared advising me that the update to KitKat was available and did I want to install it. I tapped yes and it came down via my ADSL and WiFi.

Phone is a 16B Moto G unlocked from Tesco with a code from Ebay and on the Voda network, although as I say, the mobile data was disabled on the phone at the time.

You make it sound as though you would run updates over 'mobile data' if given the option rather than via wifi. Well, you can do but it's a great way to run up a massive bill with Vodaphone unless you have a 'full monty' type of data allowance on your contract.

My phone is set to only run app updates via WiFi and that is what I would recommend to anyone. The update to KitKat is quite large and would use a big chunk of a 500 m/b allowance which is what many people have.

I beg to differ and am well aware of the costs of using 'mobile data'.

The point being made is exactly the opposite. I was attempting to amplify the point that it is not necessary to have an active 'mobile data' connection to be offered the update. Several work colleagues were under the impression that such updates would not be offered unless 'mobile data' was selected on the phone.

That being the case, it is possible that some readers of this forum may have been under the same impression.
