I thought I could get the Apple 4s new for £180. Have I got this wrong?
    Very wrong I'm afraid.

You can more than likely get a secondhand iPhone 4S for your budget, but if you are looking new (and let's face it, you can't really buy your old lady a secondhand present) then it's gonna cost you big time if you want to go down the Apple route.

The Moto G wins hands down in all aspects at £99 IMHO.
Understeer is when you hit a wall with the front of your car
Oversteer is when you hit a wall with the back of your car
Horsepower is how fast your car hits the wall
Torque is how far your car sends the wall across the field once you've hit it

When a 4G version comes out I'll have a Moto G if it's in a similar price bracket

I don't think it will be long now Motorola are 'back'. Certainly looks like they are going to launch their Moto X here next week!

Another vote for the Moto G. No better phone for less than £150 and getting any other Android phone in that price range is daft. If you like WP8 then there are some decent Lumias in that price range but WP8 isn't for everyone and you may find some of your fave apps missing still.

Moto G best budget Phone out there at the moment I find it as good as my Samsung Galaxy S3 which was a lot more than £99.

  • The BlackBerry Z10 is down to £150 payg. A bit of a dying platform but its a nice bit of kit and you can load Android apps.....
  • Is this not better than the Moto G for the same money? 4g aswell

No I don't think so it only has a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor
were the Moto G as a quad-core processor.

  • Plus the Moto G will be much better supported with OS updates on account of its parent company lol.

    Absolutely!

My unlocked Tesco Moto G (on Voda) received it's update to Android KitKat (via WiFi) this morning. Few things different, so I'm just adapting to the small changes.

did you get this update OTA? - and you're using an unlocked Tesco mobile Moto?
When I do a manual check via wifi - it always seems to time out - I have to switch the wifi off in order for the check to actually happen.
    Still no update though :(
