The OP is rude and offensive and really doesn't deserve the very good advice that has been given.
Really people, don't waste your time.0 -

Quite. OP, you perhaps need to re read the posts you are offended by and then delete your replies.0 -
OP - I totally understand your conundrum. I'd be upset too and I am not sure if QQO understands that whilst you don't want a pram with sharp items sticking out, you likewise don't want to spend £40 to end up with a big, fat nothing either. Not so illogical or an attempt to "scam" the seller. I suspect that the seller was a bit more of a scam. I'd feel pretty bad if I sold something dangerous like that!
you'll find that many on this site are a might bit rude. There is some advice at time, others it is covered with sarcasm and disdain, and sometimes that advice just ain't there! Don't let them get you upset - that's what they want as they congratulate each other (Thanking each other). Don't believe me - check out their past histories...bet you find a few others upset with them.
 as I await the flood of responses from the kangaroo court!0 -
Hmmm, Qoo. It appears that you may possibly be more than u see, after looking through the paperwork that is with my 2 parcels it seems that the seller dips indeed post both parcels to me for under £10 as they have lied about the weight of them both. Quite why myhermes have failed to notice this is beyond me.
After emailing the photos to ebay the seller responded and said that they would infact honour my partial refund.
To little to late! I'm sending back and I will go and buy the pram brand new from John Lewis.
To everyone else that finds me rude- well tough! I have express opinion as has Qqo. Though you seem to find his opinion acceptable I'm apparently not allowed to express mine.
What a total crock!yes i have 6 kids by two different fathers, but Im the parent that is there for them ALWAYS!! :A0 -

I do understand that the OP doesnt want to pay £40 to return the item but her quote is way too high.
I gave a rough price of £10 for a large item but the OP says its a double pram....so double that price.
What I picked up on was that the OPs first concern was there being no rain covers and wanted a partial refund.
Why does she want a partial refund on such a dirty, dangerous item?
Answer....she doesnt. She just wanted some money off and is now stamping her feet because the seller didnt bend over backwards to give her it and is inventing all these problems to justify it all.
There are hundreds of buyers who try the same trick over and over again.
If she was a genuinely upset buyer because the pram was in such poor condition then why mention rain covers at all.0 -
Thanks for your balanced response QQO. My point was that anyone coming on here is looking for help - I honestly don't think they'd come on here to seek how to scam a seller. And I think she's even given you props for your sage advice so she can't be too bad.
But if someone is looking for advice, I think a forum is there to help with advice, not jump on suspicion van. There's ways to ask about something without making it out like you distrust them from the outset. The seller could be the bad egg or she could or it could be just a misunderstanding. We don't know.
As for the others, they're just nasty and trying to stir the pot. Which makes her more angry. Not helpful.0 -
Good for you OP that you found an answer to your question and it can be resolved!0

Just saying we don't know if one party or the other wants to scam - or it could be neither. The forum should be to mitigate those differences and not assume one is, just cause your on that side of the fence.
Helpful advice would be to give your view as a seller and explain why a seller might feel a particular way, which helps the buyer understand the other side and hopefully comes to a resolution (or vice versa). To accuse will only get defenses up and then where does anyone go from there?
Unless you know the seller personally, you can't say they've done the right thing. And ultimately, things can just be a misunderstanding between an inexperienced seller and an inexperienced buyer.0 -
When I was buying prams etc for my kids many moons ago, I recall they would be advertised in the local paper as " only used for 6 months", when I looked at them they were clearly about two years old and looked it. I do think something that says as new should not have stains on it.0
